“ShopRite is a super popular grocery store, and this is one of the ultra busy locations is the area. Compared to other popular chains, it’s clear why: affordable products, big aisles, standard brands including generic labels, and knowledgeable staff.The strength and weakness here are identical: the location. The parking lot here isn’t easy, and the flow channels cars as badly as the Target/Home Depot lot over in Bridgewater. Like that lot too, they pack as many spaces into that confined space as possible.So you have this big ShopRite smack-dab in the middle of downtown Somerville, and at peak hours you suddenly feel like you’re heading for the Holland Tunnel. If you know how much downtown Somerville has grown lately, you might guess that the new development is growing around a commercial lot bounded by the train tracks on one side and by Main Street on the other.That’s why if I have a choice, I drive further to other ShopRites or totally avoid the area during peak hours. Some folks dislike crowded shopping.”

“We've gotten takeout from Desi Chef a few times and are absolutely amazed at the flavors and spice levels. We ordered online and the food was always ready when promised, within a minute or two. The pakura batter is a bit thicker than we are used to, but not in a bad way, it has a warm feeling that feels like a hug. The Tikka masala is absolutely on par and just spicy enough to get the average white guy a little sniffly. While the store itself might be a little simple from the outside, everything inside is what counts. The warm hug of amazing cuisine and the endless supply of Indian groceries and spices make an great addition to the variety of cultures Somerville's food scene offers. Please try this place if you like Indian cuisine. Please try this place if you like food. You won't be disappointed. It's a place that definitely belongs on a Food network or travel show.”

“I did my weekly shopping here since I was in the area. The store is big and spacious. The produce was fresh. Things were organized and easy to find. There was someone directing the self checkout line which was great. I would shop here again.”
