The vet could never unless they knocked her out (very scary to witness tbh, and you’re always afraid something will go wrong). But not these Ladies at Barones. Sue cut her nails just fine when we took her to get groomed - said she just did it while she was in the tub. And then today Kim was also able to swiftly get her nails cut; she didn’t use the tub like Sue, just had us hold her and went quickly while cutting (not so fast as to make her bleed either) and gave my dog any pauses she needed to calm down. Got through her nails in like 10 minutes!
They’re good, seriously.
Their grooming is also excellent, both dogs come back clean, soft, and fluffy.

You can instantly tell she loves her job. Over the years my dogs never reacted the way they do with her. She doesn't a fantastic job grooing them and she remembers every detail big or little about them. I never have to remind her. Technicians are always gentle and caring when dealing with my pups. Doctors are friendly, thorough, and most importantly, gentle during examinations and they take their time. We are never rushed and can get all of our questions asked and answered with ease. We do not feel like “just another patient”. We feel known and cared for.
Also, I can always call when I have a question and I receive an answer promptly. I visit often, having 4 dogs, and we always have a great experience!
I like that there are not a bunch of people and dogs in the waiting room. We call when we arrive and they let me know if it’s ok to come in (so you don’t struggle to avoid other dogs if that’s an issue for your pup). Without a bunch of other dogs around makes my pups less anxious and allows them time to calm down before going in for their examinations.
Friendly, helpful, compassionate staff; very clean environment, and priced fair for the excellent care they provide. Independently owned practice makes such a huge difference! Highly recommend!

My cat is almost 12 years old and has some GI issues that unfortunately can get worse in a matter of hours with little warning. With that said, I sometimes need her seen ASAP. Last week being one of those incidents.. I was up all night with zero sleep with a sick cat. Next morning I called and they were able to get me a late afternoon appointment. Staff is helpful and Dr DiLorenzo is so kind, gentle and reassuring. Listens and explains everything to you. Grateful to know I have this wonderful place I know I can rely on to keep my baby healthy and alive!

877 Fischer Boulevard, Toms RiverI have been taking my cats here for years and cannot say enough great things about the staff from the vets down to the techs. Everyone has been truly great and the cats are always at ease while in their care.
Our 18 1/2 year old cat, Pumpkin became ill in August and was showing signs of lymphoma. Dr. DeJohn was very caring and helpful and outlined all of our options in a simple manner. She even called us on Labor Day weekend to check in on Pumpkin, which was so sweet.
We kept Pumpkin as comfortable as possible until her final days. When the time came for that difficult appointment, the staff & Dr. Weinberger very kindly cleared some time to accommodate us.
I was absolutely devastated to lose my best friend and less than a week later, I suffered a heart attack. While in the hospital, we received a handwritten sympathy card from Dr. DeJohn & Dr. Weinberger for Pumpkin, that brought a smile to my face during such a dark time. It was such a nice & thoughtful surprise and just goes to show how much they care for the pets they treat.
Thank you all so very much for your kindness.

Super accommodating, responsive, and genuinely pleasant to work with through every stage of planning right up to the event itself. He made the whole process simple. The staff were friendly and helpful all night, and the space was perfect for what we needed — plenty of room to eat, drink, and mingle. It was pretty cool to be able to hang out in the room where the beer is brewed.
Great beer, great people, great venue. We'll absolutely be back. Highly recommend for corporate events or any group gathering!
