“TL:DR - Wonderful supply store with paint and everything else.Mostly, I was looking for spray paint to help finish a project. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is also a fully-stocked hardware store. From soup (pans) to nuts (and bolts), this place really has it all. Prices are reasonable, considering it is Vernon. Ended up buying a lot of other supplies for my house that I needed, and ones I didn't know I needed until I saw them. Go here if you need paint, or anything else for your honeydew list.”

“Simply put, the Highland General Store is my favorite store in the world. Somehow they always have exactly what you need. I can wonder around the warehouse stores for what seems like hours and not find what I need. In the Highland General store they always have it, whether it’s hardware, bulbs, paint, alcohol, select groceries, deli, even Italian ice in the summer. This store is an icon, comparable in my opinion to the Hasegawa General Store in Maui (better known as the Hana General Store). I have been going to Highland General Store for over 40 years and I want to express my appreciation to the family that has owned and run it over multiple generations. It is a truly great place, everyone who lives in that area of northern NJ is privileged to be able to shop there.”

“Great to have an "on the hook" business in town that's there when you need it. Prices a little higher than the big box stores, but that's to be expected in a privately owned establishment. Money that would otherwise be spent on gas.Workers are very helpful and attentive. Just a caution to you non-smokers with sensitive nostrils. Sometimes the place feels like a big ashtray with tools. And masks don't help.That said, in a pinch, they are an invaluable commodity in the town.”

“Moved here about 5 years back and used to drive all the way to home depot. One day I needed something small so I saw McAfee hardware on Google and took the ride. Well this place has everything the big box stores have. The employees are helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Going to be buying from here mkte often. If you need anything hardware related they have it.”
