“My partner and I came to this hotel for our second anniversary and we were so pleased with the hotels decor as well as our rooms design and amenities. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the pool and hot tub got us so relaxed it was amazing. What made the trip extra special though was our man David at the front desk! He was an absolute DELIGHT the entire weekend to the point that we wanted to leave a review for him on the official site AND on Google! Love that guy and because of him we may not only return to this West Orange Residence Inn, but may continue to book with Marriott moving forward”

“Had the pleasure of visiting their banquet halls. Didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and elegant they are. Seems like a perfect location for an event like a wedding, with out-of-town guests, as the hotel and venue are just steps away. Also, great if you have elderly guest to include as much of it is just on one floor with minimal steps.”

“Excellent location for staying close to New York City. The hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the PATH train station, with convenient connections to both Newark and the World Trade Center. The breakfast was fairly good, and the complimentary shuttle service was a nice addition.

The room was spacious and included an additional pullout sofa bed. The well-equipped kitchenette came with a fridge and dishwasher. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout our stay.”

We got ready in the beautiful Rose Room. It was so convenient to have everyone at the hotel and the most stunning suite to get ready again! We had breakfast and lunch delivered to the room and the food was delicious.
We worked with Maria and her staff per our hotel block/every question along the way, including shuttles and the schedule for the day! The day was absolutely flawless. They took all the pressure and nuances off our plate!!

“The room and hotel was very nice and reasonably priced. Our only issue was we didn't receive the hotel access info until 1:49 am the following day. We had to make a few calls to gain access. This was at or around 10:00 pm. The young lady from the hotel said I should have received an e-mail from the hotel, but I hadn't.”

“We went here for a social event but did not stay. It is really a very beautiful hotel from what we saw: lobby, bathrooms, conference rooms, common areas. Staff was very helpful. There was a restaurant called Finch and a bar but we didn't use either.”

“We stayed at this hotel primarily due to its proximity to Penn Station Newark, which was within walking distance and made it very convenient for travel. In that sense, the location was the biggest advantage and the main reason for choosing this property. The hotel itself felt like a bit of a diamond in the rough. It was well kept and clean throughout, which was appreciated. The staff and general upkeep gave the impression that they do a good job maintaining the property. However, the rooms were clearly older and carried that dated feel, even though they were still clean and functional. The surrounding area is where the experience loses some points. In the evening, the area felt sketchy and not particularly comfortable for walking around. There also aren’t many dining options or convenient stores nearby, which limits flexibility if you need something outside of the hotel. There is a restaurant directly next door that we relied on for coffee and snacks during the day, which was very convenient. However, once it closed in the evening, dining options became limited, and we were essentially left with the more expensive restaurant inside the hotel.”

“Very nice hotel just a little stressful to get to. The room was very clean ac was a little noisy being on low turning the fan up fix that problem. The halls was clean and smell of disinfectant. The restaurant (4:30pm to 11:00pm) is soooo good the price may be a little high for food and alcohol but for the convenience it's worth it. No free breakfast its a small stand that open from 6am to 12pm the options are ok don't expect to be anywhere near full without spend at least $25. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely come back to this hotel Whenever in Newark. I just recommend finding a good breakfast place to head to in the morning”

From the moment we arrived at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fairfield Hotel & Suites, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted us and immediately made us feel at home.

The hotel’s location is ideal, just off Route 46 with easy access to I-80 and convenient to both Newark and New York City. Whether traveling for business or leisure, its proximity to major transit routes makes it a great base for exploring the area.

Our room was immaculately clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with comfortable bedding, large HDTV, and reliable free Wi-Fi. The thoughtful layout provided a comfortable workspace and plenty of room to relax. Housekeeping maintained the room to an exceptional standard throughout our stay.

We enjoyed taking advantage of the hotel’s amenities — the indoor pool and well-equipped fitness center were terrific, and the on-site restaurant and bar offered delicious meals and attentive service. Everything was delivered with professionalism and genuine hospitality.

Perhaps most notable was the high level of service from every team member we encountered. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and questions or requests were handled promptly and courteously.

The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and well maintained, which made long-term stays much easier. The suites include a kitchen and a full-size refrigerator, and kitchen supplies are also provided upon request, which is very useful for extended stays.

The grab-and-go breakfast is simple but helpful and suitable for busy mornings. Having laundry facilities inside the building was also very convenient, as well as vending machines for snacks and drinks.

The beds, mattresses, and TVs also appear to have been recently updated, which has improved the comfort of the stay. Overall, the hotel has a calm and pleasant atmosphere and is a great option for anyone looking for a safe and comfortable place to stay, especially for longer-term visits.”

Outstanding hospitality from top to bottom. The front desk team is attentive, polite, and makes checking in and out completely seamless. A massive shoutout goes directly to the housekeeping team. The room wasn’t just surface-cleaned—it was thoroughly immaculate. The modern wood-style floors were spotless, the linens were fresh, the vanity and mirror were streak-free, and everything was restocked. The maids work exceptionally hard, and it shows in every detail.
​Prime Location & Convenience
The location right on Route 46 is as convenient as it gets. You are close to everything you need—liquor stores, quick food options like McDonald's, and major route access that makes hopping into NYC a quick, easy trip. A huge bonus is having a fantastic steakhouse right on-site with incredible food, so you don't even have to drive anywhere for a top-tier dinner.

The included breakfast is a major plus and far better than standard motel fare. The dining area is kept spotless and restocked every morning. They offer a hot-and-fresh setup, including turkey sausage, perfectly done hard-boiled eggs, a self-serve waffle station, and cold, fresh orange juice. It’s convenient, ready early, and completely hassle-free.

The layout provides plenty of space to unpack and settle in. Unlike other big chain hotels where furniture is worn out and falling apart, everything here is solid, clean, and well-maintained. You get an actual refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment—not just a cheap cooler box—along with a clean microwave and an in-room coffee maker. The king-size bed is massive and comfortable, paired with a dedicated desk and bright lighting. Stepping out onto the private balcony gives you a quiet, wide-open view of the back lawn bordering the woods. “Stayed here night before trip to Jamaica, left my vehicle there for a week and no problems. Shuttles are nice to the airport but coming back to the hotel from airport you need to ask specific instructions on how to find the shuttle then you are all set.”

I walked in to the front desk. Not even three minutes into being there, some kid kept screaming, “THEY’RE COMING!” No adult supervision for this kid. The line was so long and it look me around 10-12 minute to reach the front desk. When I got there, It was a random old man who looked like he experienced the Titanic. I asked him, “Just a room for one please.” You know what he said? “Sorry, we only have rooms for 50 people or up.” WHAT? ? Anyway, I got a room for 50. (It was $900 dollars by the way even though I’m one person). Despite being for 50 people and up, the room was TINY. I could barely fit my suitcase. After that, I immediately check out. Worst hotel experience ever.”

“I can't believe that I have to stay here for two weeks before I can get my room clean and my sheets changed. Who does that two weeks. I do not sleep on my sheets more than 3 days and when they are soiled after sex they are changed the same night. That is the reason we get double beds, so that we can soil one bed and sleep in the other.

Rooms: My room was not cleaned , the head boards were dirty. There is a pen on the floor next to the bed that was not cleaned up.”
