Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Granita Grille
467 Broadway, WestwoodReally good food, with super-friendly service all around. Menu is traditional Italian, with different spins on many dishes. Pay attention to the specials, they are, well, special. Hearty salads and shareable appetizers. \nDo be careful on Saturday night, when they have a live musician (the manager was courteous in accommodating our request to move to another room away from the music).\nParking can be a pain on weekend nights, so allow time for that, but that's Westwood, not the restaurant.

Westwood Prime Meats
190 Westwood Ave., WestwoodWhat a burger! I think about their burgers for so long after eating them that I refuse to share how long on the grounds it will incriminate me! This restaurant shares space with a butcher's shop. Hello? Where else would you like to buy a burger? Yum!!! The burger delicious and cooked perfectly, service was attentive and very friendly, and the place was bright, clean, and enjoyable. Yup. 5 stars.

Morgan Steakhouse
284 Center Ave, WestwoodHad an amazing dinner experience at Morgan Steakhouse and Sushi. The music was on point and the atmosphere made the whole night even better. I tried the filet mignon flatbread pizza topped with shrimp and cherry red peppers—absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

Fitrition
119 Westwood Ave., WestwoodIn a town full of quick stops, Fitrition is my steady go-to when I want a protein shake made with fresh ingredients. I enjoy that there are plenty of options to keep rotating flavors so nothing ever feels repetitive or boring. It's nice to have a place where you can mix it up instead of getting stuck ordering the same thing every time. The Purple Haze smoothie is my usual order and never disappoints -- flavorful, refreshing, and perfectly blended. I do occasionally mix it up, but I always come back to that one. Their energy bites are another standout -- satisfying a sweet craving while still being made with better-for-you ingredients. I usually keep a few in my fridge for grab-and-go energy. They also offer healthy prepared meals, which is incredibly convenient. I haven't personally tried them due to a severe gluten allergy, but friends who have enjoy them. This is primarily a grab-and-go spot, though there is minimal indoor seating if you want to stay. The staff has consistently been friendly and attentive, always acknowledging customers when they walk in. Parking tip: Westwood has metered street parking, and during peak hours it can be tough to find a spot. Even if you're running in quickly, make sure you feed the meter -- tickets are given out easily. My only real disappointment is that they discontinued the buy-10-get-1-free punch card. I was definitely bummed to see that go and would love to see some kind of rewards program return. Overall, Fitrition is a reliable local favorite for fresh shakes, snacks, and grab-and-go fuel -- it's exactly the kind of spot you're happy to keep in your rotation.

Five Dimes Brewery Westwood
247 Westwood Ave., WestwoodAs a child, I grew up in Westwood and it was a perfect town to be raised up in. My parents still reside there and every time I'm in town, which is almost every other day, I see the life this brewery brings to our downtown. I love to see it, and I enjoyed my time being there whenever I had the chance to stop by.

Lolita's Mexican Cantina
65 Old Hook Rd, WestwoodFinally I get some amazing fajitas that are sizzling hot! What has happened with Mexican restaurants around here? Our community standards have fallen so low it's ridiculously hard to find a restaurant with good Mexican food, let alone great food. But I am happy to say this is it!!! I had grilled chicken fajitas that were sizzling hot, with browned meat and veggies. The flour tortillas were soft and fresh. The beans and rice on the side were tasty. I was a little surprised they were skimpy on the pico, guac, and sour cream for the sides and there was no grated cheese. In fairness I suppose I could have asked for some more or some cheese on the side but didn't. Otherwise though I was quite pleased with the experience. Service was on point. The atmosphere was cheerful and bright. Group friendly. Bustling bar.
