USDA Plant Hardiness Map For New Mexico | Gardening Know How
New Mexico falls within USDA plant hardiness zones 4 through 9, with the majority of the state experiencing a semi-arid climate characterized by hot summers and cold winters. Zones vary by elevation and region, generally ranging from Zone 4/5 in the northern mountains to Zone 8/9 in the southern desert basins.
Northern NM (Mountains/High Elevation): Zones 4a–5b, with colder winter temperatures, sometimes reaching -25°F.
Central NM (Albuquerque/Santa Fe): Primarily Zones 6a–7b.
Southern NM (Las Cruces/Borderlands): Zones 7b–9a, featuring milder winters and long, hot growing seasons.
Key Factors: High elevation, intense sun, low humidity, and significant day-to-night temperature changes (often 30°+ difference) are typical.
Due to these variations, gardeners should consult the specific USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map for their local area, often necessitating cold-hardy plants in the north and drought-tolerant, heat-loving species in the south. and vary kind”
“Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Rosie set me up with an account and filled me in on their policies and gave me a lot of great information. I would highly recommend this place.”
“I spoke to a very knowledgable woman who was very nice. She helped me find the right gift for someone special. If you haven't stopped by here before you definitely should. They have a great selection!”
“Your store is wonderful and inviting but I want to rave about the special treatment your staff gives, particularly Jean, who went above and beyond in helping us find just what we needed. We found the perfect gift for a friend's 80th birthday!”
“Excellent customer service. I had questions about the topsoil I ordered. It looked like there was a lot of wood and mulch in it. They connected me to Wnesy, their master gardener, who assured me of the quality and also helped walk me through seeding a lawn. With the soil and Wendy's detail instructions, we have now have the beautiful grass I envisioned!”
“Brian helped not only picking out a pompas plant but gave me a great price and also carried out to my car!! Need more people with that kind of customer service skills. Seemed like a good worker also. As soon as he loaded up car he grabbed a pallet to put away. Great job ??”
“I went in person to see the variety of mulches at Barela Landscaping and those of another business on the same street. I found that Barela had very high quality and their prices were a lot cheaper than their competitor. Lupita was knowledgeable and helpful in figuring out how much I needed (I brought the measurements for my yard). The delivery went without a hitch. The amount was just what my yard needed. When I need more, I will definitely use them again!!”

“Boom in and out the door with a truck rental and on the way like it should be. The less time it takes to rent something allows for more on the job time to get it done and down the road. This place rocks. Great job in the tool and truck rental department, thanks!Parking here is good too and well lighted at night. It can get busy but I never have had to search for a spot there even on the weekends or during the Holiday Season.”
“If delivering, park on the street and walk to check in. Unstrap, etc. 7:00 am is when they start. Thier trucks and LTL's have priority. So there might be a wait. More than likely.
Back-in only, street isn't marked off, so you might have some cars there to complicate the back. More so since it's next to a school.
I don't know if you can park here overnight, but there is room on Washington.”
“it's a big box store, don't complain about finding help. use your phone, search the item in the app, it'll tell you the aisle and the bay. i always go to Home Depot for my tools!”
“I recently stopped by to get some materials for an espresso machine that I was setting up. It requires some special plumbing and I had no knowledge. I’m met a gentleman named Bob who worked there. Amazing person help me with all of my questions and also help me gather all the materials that I needed. Thanks Bob. Much appreciated.”
“Home Depot has always been good to me. They always have someone coming around the corner to help. Just the other day I had heavy things and I was unloading it to exchange and this guy stopped doing the carts and came over to help me without me me even asking!! What an Angel!! I've offered to tip this young fella and he was so polite and declined. They truly do have great people working there and I can say with 100% confidence that they're there to help wholeheartedly!!! Thank you Home Depot!!”

“I’ve dealt with Caprice at the Service Desk on multiple occasions picking up cabinet orders. She is the embodiment of pure joy to work with. She has diligently worked through multiple challenges we’ve had with the app and order tracking. You have a treasure in her. If my company were hiring, I’d be actively trying to woo her to come work for me.”
“Britney Sjostron, appliance specialist at store 3507 was a pleasure to purchase from. She is knowledgeable and friendly. As soon as we approached the appliance area, she approached us with a greeting and smile. We had shopped around and decided this is what would work for our families new washer purchase. If you have questions or just browsing, go see Britney. She'll take care of you.”
“I came in for a battery and charger for a leaf blower. It was behind a locked cage. T four employees came to help! I didn’t get the name of the first, older gentleman. He found Steve for me. Steve and Joseph helped me reach the department supervisor, Sebastian. Sebastian not only helped me find a better, more affordable option but he brought the item to the front for me while I continued to shop. Bri at customer service helped me with a return in the matter of seconds while Sebastian retrieved the item he stored for me. He checked me out while Bri was on the phone with another customer and even carried the large item to my car! This entire team was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. 6 stars if I could. I’d like to pass this along to their Medallia customer service survey but the website isn’t accepting feedback for my area code right now. Regardless, you guys are awesome. Thank you so much!”
“Very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable gentlemen. I approached several different employees for help/information and every single one of them not only gave thorough explanations but also did it with genuine joy. Look forward to coming again in the spring.”
