“Very busy. They had one register open with a new cashier. No one around to help her. She did a great job but she was very slow. Not her fault, she was new. We were in line about 20 minutes and no one came to open another register even though at one point there were at least 5 people behind me. Most got frustrated and went to self checkout.”
“In the back corner of the store, there's a little deli with fried chicken, sides and baked goods. If its open, you can order a delicious burger combo for $9. If I could suggest anything, non-seasoned curly fries would be great and the option for green chile.”

I new as I herd the Mexican music playing in the kitchen, this was the place, I said buenos dias to the ladies in the kitchen, and all greeted me as well. Maria recommend the green chili salsa and I loved it! “Thank you for everything you guys are doing to try to keep the community safe. The store was being wiped down everywhere I looked by employees, including the carts and any railing or display. There are lines on the floor demarcating 6 feet and reminders overhead to keep our distance. Everyone was friendly and nice despite the stressful situation- I really appreciate Safeway's employee's dedication to the health of the community.”
“A few supplies and I checked out the parking area to consider it for tonight's overnight. There was one other RV but it seemed a bit loud. Instead, I drove down the road to the Cracker Barrel.Inside the store, well stocked and tidy. The restrooms at the front were being cleaned and were closed off for at least 15 minutes. “I would like to share a compliment regarding exceptional customer service at your Gallup, location. While traveling from Oklahoma to Phoenix Az, our trailer tire became critically damaged and was at risk of a blowout. I called the Auto Care Center ahead of time and was informed by a lady team member that no more customers were being accepted after 6:30 PM, despite the posted closing time of 7:00 PM. We arrived at the store at 6:42 PM to see if we could get assistance. We first spoke with an associate named Seth, who appeared visibly bothered by our request and stated they were closed. We then spoke with the Team Lead, Ricky. My husband explained that we already had the replacement tire and simply needed it mounted so we could travel safely. Ricky immediately understood the urgency of our situation and demonstrated outstanding leadership. He authorized the service, and his team quickly mounted the tire for us.Thanks to Ricky’s willingness to help travelers in distress, we were able to make the long drive back home to Phoenix safely. Walmart needs more leaders like Ricky who are willing to go above and beyond for the community. We are incredibly grateful for his help and believe he deserves formal recognition for his excellent service.”

The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
