“AI Nailed This Recommendation!
We stopped here for dinner while passing through Gallup on our road trip. AI actually suggested both the stop and the restaurant, and it was spot on! It proved to be the perfect spot to take a breather, stretch our legs, and enjoy a great meal. The atmosphere was welcoming, service was reasonably prompt and friendly, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend if you’re traveling through the area!”

“**5/5 Stars: A Perfect Route 66 Gem!**
If you are looking for a fantastic, nostalgic place to stay in Gallup, look no further than the Royal Holiday Motel on Historic Route 66. This place perfectly captures the classic charm of the great American road trip, but it is incredibly well-maintained and packed with modern comforts.
From the moment we arrived, the family-owned vibe made us feel incredibly welcome. The couple who runs the front desk is exceptionally kind, helpful, and genuinely cares about your stay (plus, you have to check out the giant, beautiful houseplant in the lobby!).
The rooms are shockingly pristine—spotlessly clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Despite being an older, classic motel, the owners have clearly put a lot of love into keeping it updated. It has everything you need for a restful night: cold AC, a mini-fridge and microwave, a great flat-screen Smart TV, and fast, reliable Wi-Fi.
The location is completely unbeatable, right off I-40 and just minutes from downtown Gallup and some great local restaurants. They also offer a free continental breakfast to get you moving in the morning, free parking right by your door, and they are pet-friendly, which is a huge plus for road-trippers traveling with furry friends.
For the price, the value here is absolutely off the charts. Skip the overpriced corporate chains and stay here instead. We will absolutely be booking at the Royal Holiday again the next time we pass through New Mexico!”

“Nice hotel! Both of the front desk gals were awesome! Really enjoyed the stay. The location was a little sus...but is right next to the police department. Was disappointed to be charged a late check out fee - never had that happen - crazy!”

“If you’re in the area, definitely stop! Extremely clean nice people and the breakfast. OMG there is a lady there starting about 5:30am to 5:45 AM making made to order omelettes, absolutely incredible. You will not be disappointed. Great job guys.

The omelettes, green chili or ham or cheese or tomato or onion or everything !! Really nice touch.”

“We lost our brand new Garmin dashcam from our room that next morning.
If you could find that item and return it to us we can push this to a 5 star review???”

“Best stay in Gallup! From the nicely sized and appointed rooms to the helpful and welcoming staff, we enjoyed a 3 night stay with a large group on business. It’s hard to satisfy a lot of people but everyone was happy with their rooms and amenities so a successful stay all around!”

“This is a very nice place to stay! The breakfast is very good and there is lots of it. From pancakes and waffles to eggs and milk. The workers here are very nice. The view of the mountains is also very good. I highly recommend staying the night here!”

“We had car trouble on the freeway and unexpectedly needed to stay the night. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Would stay here again if passing through this way again.”

“I stayed here twice heading to and from a long road trip. Rooms were clean, staff was nice and had no issues with my vehicle. I was worried as I have a cargo bag atop and a rear cargo carrier. No issues. Price is great and I stay at Motel 6 because they allow pets.”

“Booked on points just for a place to sleep after a long road trip & it's perfectly fine. Obviously an older hotel that's in the process of modern refurbishment (trashcans in the hallway for obvious drips) but the room & bed was clean & was able to rest fine. No breakfast, no coffee maker in room - as long as you don't expect Hilton accomodations you're fine (& if you do, there's a Hampton Inn nearby).
My only complaint is that the bath tub plug didn't work, but I just stuffed a small towel in the drain & was able to take a bath.”

“Loved my room. Sounds like I got one of the renovated ones based on reviews. Great experience besides no warning that construction was going to begin in the parking lot while we were away for the day. Did not book for upcoming trips because the rooms are now significantly more expensive than our last trip, I do get prices change but just a heads up for whoever’s setting those! (6 nights x 4 - 8 travelers)”

“Stayed here for one night. The facility is old but clean. There was a surprice $2.50 extra charge from the goverment. Not much but it should be included in the final price. The breakfast is good for this type of hotel. WIFI is not good though. The hotel is pretty busy and all the parking lots are full by early evening. The displayed bunch of metal arts pieces in the lobby.”
