“More space and brighter, compared to their previous location which was very tight. Still a small store so can find needs but not an extensive variety. There's a rewards card which can earn you $20 discount after 100 stamps (1 stamp per $10 purchase). Tip: if you forgot your rewards card, have your receipt stamped and bring it back the next time to be added to your card. Helpful staff. Have been enjoying the riceballs from here - less than $3 each. Seaweed wrapper is separate until ready to eat. Haven't tried their other cooked food items.”

“Seems to be new people running the shop. Same great coffee and good food. Have to say that I used to hesitate going there when the older women was there...I felt unwelcomed. The man behind the counter now is quiet but cordial. Glad to have another go-to for coffee and a great bite of food. And their grocery section is chock full of great pastries, pasta, sauces, and more.”

“After hearing so much about this spot, was treated by a friend to some vegetarian momos, veggie samosas, and a mango lassi. I’ve had momos once before and didn’t enjoy, but these definitely changed my view for the better. I was hooked on the peanut orange sauce and spicy red sauce that came with them; use with caution if you’re sensitive to heat like myself. The samosa was amazing and I enjoyed the crispy flavor of the shell with the sweet sauce. I never had such a filling, thick mango lassi before— will be my go-to drink going forward here. The woman behind the cashier that also worked on preparing the food was super sweet and patient with ordering. Will be back again to try the paratha cheesy momo wrap and paratha breakfast wrap!”

“My favorite place to buy my groceries. Been shopping there for over 20 years. This is a seasonal fruit and vegetable market in the old world style. The prices and quality of the produce are excellent for in-season fruit. We can't expect to get the same quality of the same produce when it is out of season for anyone who posted a poor review. Since my children were little the great displayed produce helped them find new and interesting fruit and veggies to eat. Many times they see a new seasonal item and tried it. Cross Island is a great family run business by owner Joe who is always watching over the quality. The staff on the aisles recognizes customers and is always helpful. The butcher and seafood are top notch and beat any poor factory style meat from the big corporate chains. Shop local and support your community by sharing this great gem in Lynbrook. They have helped me raise a healthy family for years.”

“My family has been shopping here for as long as I can remember - they're the best place to get Israeli products in NYC and, over a decade after leaving the city, I've yet to find anywhere that comes close. The products are great quality. Prices have increased, but that's true everywhere. The store is small and often crowded, so expect a little bit of chaos, but everyone has always been helpful and kind. The nuts, dried fruit, olives by weight, halva are all excellent and have been for at least the last three decades :) Go and enjoy!”

“Mally’s cured me, renewed my hope in Mexican food in New York City. Until Mally’s, I’d only ever received pure, unadulterated horsesh*t from Mexican joints on the east coast, often served on a platter and smothered unceremoniously in sour cream to give the appearance of dog food. Mally’s gets it right and keeps the recipes simple. My chorizo tacos were delicious— onions grilled into the meat, easy on the crema, plenty of lime, radishes on the side. The atmosphere itself is lovely; you’ll feel like you’re in someone’s home kitchen. Good music, a beautiful shrine for Our Lady of Guadalupe, family photos. I only knocked one star off for a slightly odd smell.”

The store is a pleasure to shop at, with helpful staff, clean and bright store with never having to wait long (if at all) for checkout lines. The prices are generally very reasonable and their sales are great. They also have a lot for free parking.Parking lot is now re-paved!”

Arrived as tourist and left feeling local.The guys here sorted out anything we needed any time any day, literally got treat like royalty with the staff.The food is impeccable, I was told to try a chopped cheese on my travels, I had nothing to compare it to, but delivered! They turn their inventory over very frequently so everything is absolutely freshest you'll find.We have scheduled going to trader Joe's on a weekly basis just to pick up fruits, vegetables and fresh stuff.Folks are working or very friendly. You can talk to him, but don't forget they're working and they're good at what they do.We have switched our allegiance from trader Joe's on metropolitan new woodhaven boulevard to trader Joe's or just off Queens boulevard and Yellowstone boulevard. It has a great great variety. More so than the metropolitan avenue store. After all, it's a lot bigger.Very very highly recommended!”

“This is one out two stores on the same block that is really good to get hot foods. The prices are ok (a little bit overpriced, but you see that everywhere now!) But it's worth it if you want something good to eat. They make food all day so you're good for Breakfast, lunch & Dinner. It's also 24hrs which is great if you need a late night meal or a early Breakfast. One of the better stores in the neighborhood.”
