4944 Lake Shore Dr, Bolton LandingAs a lifelong Capital District resident, I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I’d never visited Bolton Landing. After one trip, I completely understand why people love this beautiful community.
My family and I were spending a night at the Sagamore and, while the resort offers several lovely dining options, we kept seeing rave reviews and TikTok videos about The Shack. We decided to give it a try for breakfast on a Monday morning, and I’m so glad we did.
In a time when so many restaurants seem overpriced and serve mediocre food, The Shack is a true gem.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by our server, Nicole, who was friendly, attentive, and genuinely delightful throughout our meal.
We had heard that the pancakes were a must-try, so we ordered a stack for the table. They were absolutely incredible. Words fail me when trying to describe just how delicious they were. Light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And the syrup? Spectacular. I could have happily taken a bottle home.
I ordered the two eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. Every part of the meal was excellent. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisp, and the home fries were made from real potatoes, not the frozen cubes that too many places try to pass off as home fries.
I also ordered the Strawberry Refresher, and honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had a beverage quite like it. It was refreshing, flavorful, and memorable enough that I’ll be dreaming about it for quite some time.
My daughter ordered the Eggs Florentine and loved every bite. My husband chose the French toast and was equally impressed. None of us left hungry, the portions are generous and well worth the price.
The weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed sitting outside while taking in the morning. Our only regret was not bringing our dog, as The Shack is pet-friendly and welcomes your furry companions.
The Shack was one of the highlights of our visit to Bolton Landing. Between the outstanding food, excellent service, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s easy to see why this place has developed such a loyal following.
We’re already planning a return trip—and you can be sure another Strawberry Refresher and a stack of pancakes will be part of the itinerary.
