1195 Ridge Road, Queensburymy 17 year old cat's needs are changing as she ages, and i have been searching for a long time for a place where i felt safe and confident leaving her.
after much research and broadening of my search, i discovered the country kitty b&b.
it is an hour and 15 minute drive from my location in southern vermont, but the gentle, exceptional care that my cat lucy received during her stay makes that a small price to pay.
from my very first conversation with lynn, i felt completely at ease.
it is obvious that everyone at the country kitty loves cats.
communication was always prompt (with thoughtful questions like litter box type preference) and my cat's room was warm and cozy and clean, with a beautiful view through a large sunny window and plenty of nooks and crannies and spaces to move around in.
there was a chair for her to use because of her arthritis and a brand new scratch toy.
the attention to detail is noticeable and touching, with lucy's name in welcome outside, on the door to her room, and even in a gift bag i received when i picked her up.
the country kitty is clean and quiet and their vaccine and health requirements are strict and reassuring.
when i brought lucy home she was happy and clean and healthy, and it was one of the first trips i've ever taken where i did not worry about her well-being while i was gone.
i only wish they took border collies so my dog could stay there as well.

We were in the area last weekend and found this in our search for a local restaurant so we stopped by. After eating here I would truly consider it the best food in the whole Lake George area. Food was absolutely delicious. I had the German Tour meal and the veal and steak sauebraten were phenomenal. The sauce on the sauerbraten was especially good. Potatoe pancakes top notch and just good as my mom's :). Will be back next time my family is in the area. The seating in side is limited so if your going to be eating at a busy time you should make reservations.
