cityFoundry is a pillar of Brooklyn design, a source for designers and architects with an impeccably curated selection. It offers 20th century vintage design, custom limited edition pieces, and an extensive collection of furniture, lighting, and art. The fantastic and ever-changing selection includes mid century, industrial, art deco, and machine age items. The staff is willing to help you browse and are really knowledgeable, but also leave you alone. It is a place to enjoy browsing, with lots to look at, and should be on your short list for that one right vintage piece.
City Foundry is beautiful: great eye, excellent objects, very inspiring to wander through. The owner, however, has the distinct energy of someone deeply inconvenienced by the existence of customers. The shop was completely empty and somehow I still felt like I was interrupting something. Chic objects, chilly atmosphere.
