“The sofas are great - very comfortable and good looking. Also, the arrangements options are many (and other logistical efforts are easy). There's some wait involved (you don't get these next week) as all are custom made in Spain, yes in EU. The cost is premium too - but that's one's choice to make... The delivery blokes are very fast and friendly - ours have come back to fix one minor factor omission. “As a lot of other reviews have said the record selection is very good. I was hoping to find one record I might have wanted to pick up but left with 3 and could have easily picked up more. The small punk section is compact but the selection is exactly what I was hoping for and more.
There was also a mini record fair (for lack of a better description) outside that was wrapping up when we arrived that I’m sure was good. Next time!
We picked up a few other bits and could have easily bought more if we lacked restraint. There are books, clothing, and lots of other pieces that would make great gifts.
Will be back for sure.”

“I visited Beam while in town and was immediately drawn to some beautiful ceramics by a local artist on display. When I mentioned them to the male associates — both in their 20s — they had no idea who the artist was. To top it off, I was greeted with a dismissive “hey” — which set the tone for the whole interaction. They were so caught up in their own conversation that I felt like an afterthought, which made for pretty disappointing customer service.
I did end up purchasing a lovely dish towel made in Portugal, and the store itself is charming. But those two gave me little hope for men of their generation — and I say that only half-jokingly. Two stars for customer service, but the place itself is great.

Update to my previous review: I’m raising my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. The reason for the change is simple — the manager, David Lapointe , took the time to reach out to me personally and made me feel like a genuinely valued customer. That kind of personal attention and accountability goes a long way, and I really appreciated it.
When I’m back in New York City and would absolutely visit the store again. I’ve always loved the selection they carry — there’s so much in there worth checking out. Looking forward to stopping in.”

The dresser was in great shape when picked up (all defects and dents were disclosed to me which some vintage stores do not do ahead of time) and I am super happy with it. I wish I had space for everything in their store. Will be going back for smaller items soon.”
“In a city spoiled by choice, I always assumed I would have to cycle through a few upholsterers before finding the one that really understood quality and timelines. I ended up in a tough spot after two different people failed to deliver and thankfully, a careful Google search landed me at Red Threads, which not only met my expectations, they exceeded them.
I'm a newbie to upholstery and interiors, so having craftspeople who are patient and willing to explain things made such a difference. There's always a certain level of blind faith you have to have working with someone new, but Leon and Yien immediately gave such a good vibe and I'm so glad I trusted it. They were friendly, communicative, and so easy to work with. Projects that I thought would overwhelm someone were handled with minimal drama and finished right on schedule.
The most impressive thing they created for me was a curtained off nook with a structured valance. My building is pre-war, so nothing is quite straight, and they even had to notch around a picture rail. Leon came mid-project with a template to test the fit which I really appreciated, and the final installation was truly flawless.
They also did roman shades, pillows, headboard, bed skirt, an armchair that they restained and refinished with perfect pattern matching, and a custom bench that turned out exquisite. They also fixed curtains and a chair that someone else had messed up. The quality is unmatched and you can feel the pride in their work. I don't think there's anything they can't do!
Designing a home is personal and a real labor of love. Finding craftspeople you trust and who respect that process, while also being reliable on the business and administrative side, feels incredibly rare. I only wish I had more projects for them because the experience was that good. If you want partners who care about their craft, communicate clearly, and truly deliver on their promises, work with Red Threads!”
