“Whenever we're visiting Clayton, we always stop here to pick up supplies. They have a large selection of spices and rubs from Nutmeg Spice Company, including many spices that we can't find in our stores back home, so we always stock up before heading home. The prices are significantly less than what you pay for a very small container of spices from the big name brand companies, and just as good.”

“White's is a nice convenience store. I do love the staff so that makes it a 4 star Review. I would find it beneficial for the products to be priced. Most are not. Sometimes you want to budget your spending when your shopping. When items are not priced it makes it hard to do so. Of course, I don't want to ask the clerk every time I have a question for a price. I hope they choose to in the future.
I do like that they have a good variety of items and they're open late.
Since reopening with new owners they have made some improvements which is nice too.”

“Going to the Dollar General is always a great time. I always go in for 1 thing and leave with twenty..i love all dollar generals, I don't think I've ever had a problem with any of them. I'm always adding and updating my reviews for them because I go to so many I don't think of them. This time was for laundry soap and cat litter i always find everything I need plus some. I love Dollar General. I think Dollar General is the best store ever. Especially springtime, when they get all their new cute stuff out!! They always have stuff. You don't see anywhere else, especially for summer, all times of the year, really, but there's something about the middle that fills up with the awesomest things. All spring and summer, and then Christmas comes and I get so excited, it's my favorite!!”

“Wow!! What outstanding customer service! Brandon (I think that is his name) was so helpful and polite in the meat department. We needed strip steaks cut to order. He had the most beautiful steaks in our hands in 5 minutes. Thank you Brandon!!
The woman in the seafood department also went out of her way to help us and was very sweet.
The front end cashiers, as a whole, are polite, well trained and great at their jobs!
Whoever does the hiring and training here, needs a raise!!”

“Cedar point market has a really great selection of groceries, recreational gear, and most importantly to me… Camping gear. Four different options for RV sewer hose that I was looking needing to extend my reach. Great hours as well.”

“No Frills is a Canadian discount supermarket chain owned by Loblaw Companies Limited. Founded in 1978 in Toronto, Ontario, the store was created with a single purpose: to provide essential groceries at the lowest possible price. The very name, “No Frills,” captures the brand’s philosophy—cut unnecessary extras, keep operations lean, and pass savings directly to customers. Over time, the chain has become a staple across Canada, especially for families and individuals looking for affordability without compromising on quality.

The success of No Frills lies in its stripped-down business model. From the beginning, the stores avoided fancy décor, background music, or elaborate product displays. Customers were encouraged to bring their own shopping bags and pack their own groceries, long before these practices became mainstream for environmental reasons. Shelves were often stocked with items still in their shipping boxes, cutting down on labor costs. These practices reduced operating expenses and made it possible to offer lower prices than traditional supermarkets. The concept resonated with Canadians, particularly during periods of economic uncertainty, where stretching every dollar mattered.

A defining feature of No Frills is its focus on President’s Choice and No Name products, both of which are private labels under Loblaw. The bright yellow packaging of No Name products is instantly recognizable and has become a cultural symbol of affordability in Canada. These items often provide the same or similar quality as national brands at a fraction of the price. By emphasizing store brands, No Frills maximizes margins while giving customers strong value propositions. In addition, national brands are still carried, allowing shoppers to make direct price comparisons and decide what fits their budget best.

No Frills also stands out for its quirky marketing. The “Hauler” campaign, launched in 2018, turned bargain shopping into a source of pride. Ads featured upbeat music, bold graphics, and the message that buying smart at No Frills makes you a “Hauler.” This approach cleverly transformed the discount shopping experience from being seen as a compromise into something trendy and empowering. The campaign has resonated with younger audiences, helping the brand stay relevant in a changing retail landscape.

Community presence is another strength. With over 270 locations across Canada, No Frills has made itself accessible in both urban centers and smaller towns. Stores are often franchised, meaning local operators can tailor service to their communities while still benefiting from the buying power of Loblaw. This balance between national consistency and local management helps maintain customer loyalty.

However, the model is not without its drawbacks. Some shoppers may find the bare-bones shopping experience less appealing compared to full-service grocery stores with wider selections, bakery counters, or hot food sections. Yet for many Canadians, especially those facing rising food costs, these trade-offs are worth it. The ability to save significantly on weekly groceries outweighs the lack of extras.

In conclusion, No Frills represents more than just a grocery chain—it reflects a philosophy of simplicity, efficiency, and value. Its no-nonsense approach to retail has kept it competitive for decades, while its iconic branding and clever marketing have cemented its place in Canadian culture. For anyone seeking to stretch their grocery budget without sacrificing essentials, No Frills remains a trusted destination.”
