“Dr Chivers was very competent and caring when our dog was dying. The emergency actions she took at 4AM helped our dog live for a bit longer and get access to specialized cardiac care in Manhattan. Her notes were also extensive and very helpful to other physicians.”
“Just had our first visit and I am blown away!!! My 70-lb bully mix, Ferdinand, absolutely hates vet visits and this is the only office that made him feel comfortable enough to even be touched. Dr. East & Jessica were incredibly kind and understanding, even when Ferdie started to act out which I felt so bad about. He didn't need a muzzle during the exam which was shocking because we've tried 4 other vets in the city this year alone, and none of them were able to lay a single finger on him. Dr. East & Jessica sat on the floor with Ferdie and were super reassuring with him the entire time. Even when he started to snap at them, they were so calm and patient as opposed to all the other vets we've tried who got offended and refused to try comforting him. You can tell they truly love animals and had my dog's best interests in mind. The ladies at the front desk were also so lovely. Would highly recommend to anyone on the search for a new vet, especially if you have an anxious baby like mine. I am so grateful I found this office - finally one that I trust and plan to go back to. Thank you to the entire RVCOC team!”

“This is your go to clinic. I called and they got me scheduled for an appointment in 45 minutes. They are kind, caring, and nurturing. Dr. Chan is very humble and gentle. My kitty doesn’t usually prefer men, but Duncan very much approved of him. Didn’t get the best news today, but the staff handled his results with care and made me feel like my baby was in good hands. Highly recommend!”
“Kings bay veterinarian is the place to take your pet. I have a black lab , that has a lot of issues ,since she was a puppy . I went to a few veterinarians in Brooklyn, and I didn’t feel comfortable with them at all.
I’ve been going to kings bay veterinary , since my dog was a few years old. she will be 11 years old in November. Dr max lotovsky is a fantastics doctor, he has a lot of compassion and understands animal's.
Dr max helped my dog so much, I always felt very comfortable with him and his staff.
The staff at kings bay is outstanding , very respectful and very helpful.
I would recommend kings bay veterinary to being the best place for your animal.

“My dog Monty got scratched by a cat during our morning walk and so I ran him to this vet (nearest one open). Despite there not being any available appointments, they were able to get a technician to see my dog immediately.

“My doggie needed teeth cleaning and there was a lump growing on one of her mammary glands. I wanted it taken care of so she can be healthy since she's part of the family! Took a while to get an appointment as a new patient I called a few times just to secure one. Once I got a consultation and saw the veterinarian (who is amazing). So I scheduled her teeth cleaning and surgery day. She's a very small dog around 5lbs she was a bit concerned for her. When I picked her up after surgery she was definitely not happy and snapped at me but I understood the ordeal that she thought I put her through even for her own good! Anyways, after a few days giving her meds and cleaning her wound she started perking up and acting like herself which was faster than I expected! Animals are resilient! I am so glad I found Juniper Valley for my furry bf because it's close by home and there's the beautiful Juniper Park which after appts (not surgery) we can go for a nice walk.”

“I never write reviews but this one is necessary! Dr. Pozo is truly a gem, she’s so warm and gracious and puts you right at ease! She squeezed me in to see my two newly adopted cats when I found out one of them was given to me sick. She examined them both and prescribed medicine, taking the time to teach me how to administer and tips on how to keep the cats calm and how to prevent myself from getting scratched! She has since been very kind to answer all my follow up worry some questions and has also taken care of my dog. If you’ve been searching for a vet, I highly recommend you put your trust in Dr. Pozo!”

“No long waits for the appointment which is such a plus. It's also possible to get same day appointment if you call opening time (I'm not sure if it's guaranteed though or whether they have separate same day appointment slots).
Doctors and nurses are very patient with you and the pets. They explain everything thankfully.
They also mentioned that you can get prescriptions from chewy when you put their details and once they approve it. I haven't had the need to try this out yet”
“I am really glad I made the move from where I previously took my pets to PVMG (formerly CVA). The staff is compassionate and caring, which is incredibly important to a pet parent. They are professional and considerate and remember you. It seems this is true for most of the staff at their other locations, even over the phone, helping you make appointments at another clinic to get your pet in if they need more immediate service.
I would like to single out Dr. Frank DeFeis, who is one of the best veterinary doctors I have been to in the 30 years I have been a pet parent. He has treated three of my cats. One was originally diagnosed by two other doctors with cancer due to her nasal bleeding. Because I couldn't afford certain high-priced diagnostics (although the average market price for radiology across NYC vet clinics), he patiently tried various avenues with medicine and tests over a three-month period, and eventually, he found it was a bacterial infection, and cured it. My other cat, who does indeed have bone cancer, has been treated by Dr. DeFeis with love, kindness, and patience to keep him alive with quality of life while explaining everything along the way to me (and dealt with my quasi-hysteria over it). His use of herbology and acupuncture as well as traditional medicine has allowed me more time with my cat, and he has gone above and beyond to help a pet parent with anticipatory grief.
I cannot recommend him highly enough, and the office staff at both the Bayside site and the Forest Hills location have been incredibly compassionate. Thank you.
UPDATE:
I am also very grateful to Dr. Ottenbreit, who is also incredibly kind, caring and knowledgeable. She took over my pets' care when Dr. DeFeis moved to the main location. Her and Muhammad the main Vet Tech/Nurse (Veterinarian Reaident??) and the whole tean made my terminal cat's transition into spirit as loving and good a send off as one would hope. We put him to sleep yesterday, which is two months after my initial post. The staff were rooting for me and my pet family, and the tender care they gave us is forever appreciated.

I absolutely love this place the staff is very nice and Victoria is the absolutely the best. The new kitten WILL be getting spayed by her because I trust her so much. You can tell she truly loves and cares for my pets just as much as I do. I highly recommend and low key wish I could work here. ?

“Doctor Harrington is fantastic! Professional, responsive, courteous, and direct.
First met her in 2023 for a second opinion on my older dog's knee a few weeks after moving to the neighborhood. She made time to see my dog same day and gave excellent advice and referrals to a fantastic vet surgery practice in Brooklyn. I immediately started coming to CityVet first for everything.
In early 2024 she made a quick second diagnosis that another vet at her practice had missed, then performed the needed minor surgery on my dog herself with excellent results that immediately cleared up the issue.
Front desk is generally very responsive in person and over email, most recently going out of their way to follow up multiple times when PetSmart kept botching my flea/tick approval and helped me switch to Chewy.
