I wanted to share this experience so others, who love their animals, would know about how wonderful the care is at Mid Island Animal Hospital. I have been taking my golden retriever puppy there since she was 12 weeks old. Recently, my 17 month old dog stopped eating and was just sleeping all day which was not like her at all. I thought maybe she had a stomach parasite or some other simple issue. We were taken that same day and seen by Dr. Stephanie Acevedo. Dr. Acevedo was extremely professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and compassionate. She understood we were in shock and upset with the test results and she took the time to explain everything several times. She never rushed us out or made us feel bad about asking so many questions. She was so knowledgeable and compassionate. She was just great with my dog. The dog required emergency surgery and Dr. Acevedo arranged everything with the surgeon so that the procedure went smoothly. She guided and helped us through this difficult and stressful time. Thank God that the surgery was a success and my girl will be just fine. Huge thank you to Dr. Acevedo for saving my girl. I must also add that the Vet techs and front office personnel are just amazing. They treat both pets and families with kindness and respect. From beginning to end, this practice takes care of and goes above and beyond for their patients. Your family is in good hands at Mid Island Animal Hospital. As far as a star review, they deserve all the stars in the sky for such great animal care!!!! ❤️?

The staff is friendly and personal with every customer. They make you feel welcomed and appreciates customers. The food is perfectly portioned and tastes flavorful and fresh. They do make a very unique chicken with Mac and Cheese that I ask for all the time since my kids love them. The stew chicken, jerk chicken and fried chicken with rice and peas are on point. I love their escovitch snapper with rice and peas and one of the best I had. We will always be repeat customers.

While I understand there was a 90 minute time limit on the table, after an hour it was “suggested” if we were done, could we “evacuate” the seat. I wouldn't have any problem doing that, I'm not one to sit and linger for no reason, but I had a fresh drink in front of me. I felt rushed to hurry and “drink up”.

The food had lost a step in previous years, but now it’s back to the same high level as when New Chilli & Curry first opened. Plus you can order beer and wine again, and the owners are some of the warmest people I’ve ever met!
Among my favorite dishes to order are the Chili Garlic Noodles and Chili Fish Hakka Style. Each bite is a delectable combo of savory and just enough spice to add heat without being overpowering. I’m also partial to the Bhindi Masala and Garlic Naan. Worth noting this is one of the few places around to serve not just Indian but Hakka cuisine as well – if you haven’t yet, I definitely recommend you give it a try.
