“I just discovered this place and love it! I grabbed some snacks for a hike and charcuterie for happy hour. They have a great selection of really special products and you can tell everything is thoughtfully curated. I bought some house made meatballs and a special spaghetti that the shopkeeper recommended and it was the perfect dinner.”

“I'm only in the Hunter area a few times a year to visit family but have found the need to visit Dollar General on a number of occasions. Have found the store to always have a wide variety of merchandise, well kept, and the staff to be extremely accommodating.”

“Ordered chicken parm and their Greek salad for a small house party. Serving for 20 - everyone commented on how fresh and delicious this food was. As good as that was, there was a surprising runaway hit. If you want to taste something different and off-the-hook awesome, order the vegetable-stuffed bread! They grill a yummy combo of veggies, layer that with mozzarella cheese and then stuff that delicious mixture into a large loaf of bread and bake it! ? ...you haven't tasted anything like this before. You can thank me later.? Enjoy!”

“I don't even know why you're reading this right now, ignore all other reviews, ignore all other food options. Go get some Deli Sandwiches or Various Salad(s) or home made baked goods or delicious speciality drinks. They close at 2 so get it in early. They're also closed Sunday and Monday. That's why you ignore everything else because if they're open and you need somewhere to eat: now you don't. Go get a sandwich or slaw/salad now.Now to explain my most common orders (pictures added below) are the Dirty Canadian & Dirty American. Order their American or Canadian, whichever you prefer. And add bacon to it. Then you also order a separate 1/4lb of roast beef and I personally like to order a small seafood or coleslaw. Then get either mesquite BBQ chips (for Canadian) or Salt&Pepper/Salt&Vinegar chips(for American). I'm a big believer in ice tea for a side or Arnold Palmer. Now for the assembly of the sandwich, you crush up your chips. Lay them down inside the roast beef and roll it up and place inside the sandwich. You can add hot sauce if you want now.The best part about all of this? It's just about $20 end of the day and you get enough food to eat a light dinner and pass out. I love eating here after a day of shredding.”

“Well stocked, clean, and staffed with nice people. Don't come in expecting fresh lobster or a huge fruit/veg section: it's in the mountains after all. Only complaint would be that some of the prices can be pretty high, but that's how the cookie crumbles.”

“I'm so thankful to have somewhere to get necessities, the only actual grocery stores are 20 minutes out in any direction so not great when you unexpectedly run out of something or forgot an ingredient for dinner. The manager and employees have always been super nice and they have a shockingly thorough selection of groceries and home needs, a little bit of everything.City folk may not be a fan because it's more laid back than they're used to, but this place is a lifesaver for us locals <3”
