“I stopped by Stewart’s Shops for the first time while I was in upstate New York, and I was honestly surprised—in the best way. I had heard a lot about their ice cream, and it definitely lives up to the hype. It was super creamy, rich, and unlike anything I’ve tried before. You wouldn’t expect ice cream this good from a convenience store, but they really nailed it. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Even as a first-timer, I felt comfortable right away. I also tried one of their hot dogs, and I really appreciated that they offer beef hot dogs since I’m allergic to pork—that was a big plus for me. Overall, it was a surprisingly great stop. Between the quality of the ice cream and the kind service, I’d definitely go back again.”

There needs to be more customer engagement, but that seems to be a problem anywhere you go in retail. The company plans to add 120 stores during the current fiscal year. Its previous plan, launched in 2023, delivered more than 500 new stores and earned the company a spot in the S&P 500.
