“We are very happy with our decision to book our wedding courtesy hotel block at the Hampton Inn & Suites Poughkeepsie. Communication between me, Indira, and Peter was always quick and easy via email, which made the entire process simple. Many of our guests utilized the block for both the night before and the night of our wedding, filling all 20 standard rooms and 2 suites, and we were even able to add 5 additional standard rooms as needed.
We also booked the Liberty Room for our ceremony rehearsal, which was clean, set up exactly as needed, and perfect for our group. In addition, we hosted a small welcome gathering in the breakfast area by the lobby, which worked out wonderfully and was a great space for guests to mingle.
The only thing we wish had been different was having the hotel block rooms located closer together, as our guests were spread out across different floors. However, this was a minor inconvenience overall, and the experience was still very positive.”

Gail is a treasure, making us feel welcome and cared for. The staff checked on us to insure that we had all needed supplies after our first night. What a pleasant experience, thank you to all who made our 3 day visit so wonderful!!”
“Good hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is good as well. The elevator seems a little dated but to be fair it is only 3 floors in all. This is a non smoking hotel. Visit here during Sep/Oct and you can actually see apples growing on the trees in the compound.

One complaint is that the dishes and cutlery are made of plastic - an investment in ceramics and metal would add to the good impression.

“Little disappointed that they removed the whirlpool. It was a long drive in an uncomfortable car. We were looking forward to relaxing in the whirlpool. Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable.Food & drinks: Redline diner and cracker barrel are across the street.”
“All y'all with your cute little negative reviews can really scare a person for no reason! Its clean enough, not the greatest, but doesnt smell. Yes there are burn holes in the fabrics, thanks irresponsible smokers! NO there are not bedbugs...geesh that review alone had me in a severe panic attack before we even got here. I'm highly allergic, but woke up this am no bites not itching. If you're a laid back easy going person, this hotel will suit you just fine.”

“I had a nice day with my wife here for one night in the winter time. It was pretty being alongside the river. Nice view. The rooms are somewhat dated, but we’re very clean and everything worked as needed. The breakfast was abundant and awesome! Seating for breakfast is in view of the river and plenty of seats. I would stay here again. The building itself looks like something out of a mystery novel, and I loved that!
Rooms: Rooms were a little dated but very clean. The only issue was the auxiliary heater was not functional in the room. We actually didn’t even use it in the night time on a winters day, so it didn’t really matter, but it would’ve been nice to be a little warm in the morning. I never mentioned it to staff.
Safety: Off of a quiet country road, I never felt unsafe there. Well lit parking lot.”

I don't know what all the negative reviews are about because I never once experienced a problem or any rude employees. My room was always clean and if I needed something they were helpful. I would definitely stay there again if I needed to. Thank you for your service.”
