“Like another reviewer said, coming in here is an experience. David and Peter are just two awesome guys of the community. It’s something out of a movie. The shop is chaotic and disorganized, sure. But they will go up and out of their way to ensure you get what you need and will give you the time of day for even odd hyper specific requests. I was trying to build a guitar pedalboard but make it very customized with a pretty specific thing in mind… but I didn’t really have exact dimensions. David spent off and on about 1-2 hours going through the store and talking me through what I needed and how to do it. Pros and cons. I personally think I can be annoying with some of the trying to understand the how and why but they don’t make you feel that way.
TL;DR: being in there feels like an irl sitcom while also getting very practical help and things.”

I cannot say enough amazing things about Carlos at Mazzone Ace Hardware! He truly went above and beyond in a way you rarely see anymore.
I came in looking for a key solution, and instead of just selling me something standard, Carlos came up with a genius idea: he figured out a way to switch out the lock so I could use the existing keys I had already purchased.
To top it all off, he actually skipped his own lunch just to make sure my keys were cut perfectly (200 of them) and I was taken care of. He is incredibly generous, sweet, and a absolute lifesaver. Mazzone Ace Hardware has a customer for life thanks to Carlos. If you need anything, go see him!”
“Your neighborhood hardware store should have just about anything you need to take care of things in and around your home and Mazzone ACE Hardware on 116th does just that! Everyone working there is so knowledgeable and helpful that you leave their feeling confident that you’ve gotten just exactly what you need. It certainly beats the corporate hardware stores, you know HD and one that begins with an L where help is hard to find and the personal touch is sorely lacking. “Needed help with door lock in new apt in NYC. Sky was recommended by my supt--and they were fantastic. Not only fixed the lock (which involved some complicated readjusting of plates and bolt) but also helped me figure out why door was continuing to stick (such that it wouldn't open) and then addressed THAT with general handyman skills at no extra charge. Fee was actually less than originally quoted. Couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Highly recommend.”

“This is one the quickest service I’ve ever received, I needed a copy of my keys and I was calling a few places and all of them weren’t helping I called this store and he told me to pull up and within 5 minutes of me being in the store they finished faster then I can pick and choose a key change, definitely would be coming back and it’s a hardware store at that !”

“I stopped in to figure out a solution to mount my TV mount to drywall or metal studs. The shopkeeper was very patient listening to what I had tried so far and to my plan, and he offered helpful suggestions. He found screws and washers that were perfect for my situation, and after placing a handful in my hand he told me that I was good to go. I insisted on paying but he insisted that it was fine. “This store is an amazing local hardwar store with lots of cool houseware and decorations for holidays. Not to mention the staff is wonderful and helpful. When I first moved to my apartment nearby, one of the associates offered to carry a bench I bought for my balcony for me to my new apartment. I would honestly go there more often, if only they were open on Sundays! See, Sunday is my only free day during the week, where I don't have work and less likely to have other stuff going on. It would really help both me and our community if they were open on Sundays as well.”
