7610 US-209, NapanochMy wife, 4 year old son, and I stopped here on our way home from Kelder’s Farm and this is some of the most authentic, delicious Puerto Rican food any of us has ever had. And that’s saying a lot because my wife is Puerto Rican and we are originally from Brooklyn, where Puerto Rican food is plentiful.
The beans, which was almost like a stew in of itself was made with potatoes, peppers, olives, and more was insanely good. The beef stew was so lean and soft, it fell apart. And the Chicken stew was no different.
I recommend Carmen’s to anyone who wants an incredible meal.

The RDI Bar & Road Kill Grill
28 State Rte 55, NapanochFood price/quality (value) 9. The atmosphere is kind of hunting lodge / roadside bar. They have a good sized bar, and several booths and counter style seating. The unique thing about this place is that they serve several fairly exotic meats including elk, wild boar, kangaroo and several others that one cannot find elsewhere. We stopped in for dessert after eating lunch at another local place. I had their homemade strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries (very good), and the wife had their homemade blueberry pie, also very good. The owner, Christine, was on deck and told us the story of this place which you can read about on their history page (see photo). Very interesting. This place is very unusual, and I hope we can get get back here soon to try the exotic fare even though it's 75 miles from where we live. If you're looking for something completely different - this place is it.
