609 NY-208, GardinerI just found this pet store about two months ago. While visiting my Mom, I unexpectedly saw the pet store & had to make a U-Turn to go back & check this store out. I like it, it’s clean & the people are friendly. Will go back because my furrybabies are my children & I love buying them stuff plus I look for items on sale to buy and donate to the dogs & cats at shelters.

Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery
14 Grist Mill Lane, GardinerAn excellent little distillery adjacent to a beautiful river outlook. The location of this spot is very special - in the fall, you can sit outside and watch birds and deer use the river, enjoy the beautiful foliage as this is tucked into the forest. It’s also right between a bunch of similar businesses on a mini winery and cidery crawl - Bruysnwick and Whitecliff wineries as well as angry orchard cidery sit within 10-15 minutes of this spot. They have a food truck that offers tacos while we were there, and if it’s too cold or crowded the indoor bar is wonderful and has an old pub feel with local art on the wall.
Tuthilltown is apparently New York’s first legal distillery - they sell recognizable bottles of rye and bourbon you will see throughout New York, but have a couple of distillery exclusives that can only be bought here. Overall we found the bourbons and ryes a mixed bag - some good, some bad. A couple were incredible and we took some of the samples home as well. If you’re in a group and want to make a purchase of a bottle, a great option is the tasting kit - at $20 for 6 tasters, it’s a great, cost effective way of trying things out before you buy them. I can’t recommend this spot strongly enough, I’ll definitely be back to try some cocktails and more bourbons!

Gardiner Brewing Company
699 NY-208, GardinerWe recently visited Gardner Brewing Company for apple picking and ended up staying for some live music, which was great! They have an excellent selection of beers and liquors, including some really good local IPAs and other beer styles. It's a great spot to enjoy a few drinks, pick some apples, and catch live music if there's a show happening.
The food, unfortunately, was the least impressive part of our visit. It was okay, but nothing particularly memorable or worth going out of your way for.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Gardner Brewing Company for the apple-picking experience, great beer selection, and live music. If you're planning to make a meal out of it, though, I'd probably look elsewhere for food.
