Paws of Distinction
10 Main St #313, New PaltzI brought my dog to the shop. She absolutely loved so many of the toys. The cashier was incredibly helpful and kind. She answered all of her questions and helped us find the most durable toys for our lil goblin.

Pet Sitting & Training

New Paltz Dog Training & Canine Adventures
2 Rocky Hill Rd, New PaltzWe've been day school clients of New Paltz Dog Training for several years. We wanted to safely introduce our exuberant, people-loving pitbull to other dogs. I was hesitant at first — the whole pitbull thing — but Valerie and her crew are amazing. They are experts at dog group dynamics and provide a safe, fun environment for all the dogs. Mojo comes home relaxed and happy but not over tired. Adorable side effect: since going to day school, she has much more active dreams with lots of tail wagging and sleep running. She’s 9 now and shows no signs of slowing down thanks in large part to her twice weekly trips to New Paltz Dog Training and Canine Adventures.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

The Ridge Café
70 Main St, New PaltzThis place is wonderful, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the drinks are delicious and they have a great variety of teas, delicious coffee, the place is cozy, very clean, I recommend it 100%. Don't miss the opportunity to try something different and healthy above all. Oh, and you can also buy dried tea to prepare at home, and they sell different options. I love it.??

Jar'd Wine Pub
10 Main St, New PaltzOne of the best parts of my trip! I’ve had Old Fashioneds at a lot of places, and Teresa made one of the best I’ve ever had. I actually ended up having two because it was that good. 😄
Teresa is also one of the coolest bartenders I’ve met and just a genuinely nice person to talk to. Great drinks, great vibes, and definitely a place I’ll come back to next time I’m in New Paltz.

Twin Star Orchards
155 N Ohioville Rd, New PaltzReserved a few days ahead for a 12:30 PM arrival time on a Saturday in early October. We actually just came for lunch, not to apple pick, so my rating is based on the food. They do sell apples (and much more) in the store. I tried the Margherita pizza, 3 mushroom white, and sausage special (housemade bratwurst). Pizzas were excellent. Brat was tasty but pretty small portion for the price (one link cut in half and some cornbread). Also got some of the cider doughnuts, which were good, but wish they were hot. You can get hot ones a few miles away at Jenkins-Lucien. Fresh cider was amazing!

Mudd Puddle Coffee Roasters
10 Main St #312, New PaltzTry as I might, I cannot find better coffee beans. The owners roast them onsite and are precise and passionate about every aspect of the place. Friendly and efficient staff and a superb location. Their back porch has a great view of the mountain too. If you're in New Paltz, this is the cafe to go to.

Underground Coffee and Ales
36 Main St, New PaltzStopped in a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by the young people working who seemed happy to be there. They helped my wife and I find a table and brought water for our little dog. Service was very pleasant and prompt. My wife had a burger that was nicely cooked and she enjoyed. I had the Vineyard Skillet. It was exceptionally good. Would happily go back if ever in the area. Really nice spot. Thank you for having us and for making our early dinner a really great part of our day!

The Parish
10 Main St #327, New PaltzWent here on a nice summer Saturday with my family and had a wonderful experience. The gumbo stole the show! Creative options, classic New Orleans fare (including the fried alligator bites which we didn't get to try, maybe next time). Burger was amazing, fries (both Cajun and regular) were spot on. Buffalo cauliflower was my personal favorite. The waitress was friendly and personable. We had a few lovely conversations with her about her favorite selections. Chocolate cake = perfection. Atmosphere is casual, music is gentle and the staff were lovely. Definitely coming back. (Just be prepared for weekend New Paltz parking when you come out...)

Burger Box
125 Main St, New PaltzHere’s the updated review:
If you’re in New Paltz and craving a great burger, Burger Box is definitely worth a visit! My husband and I stopped by for lunch, and we both left impressed.
I ordered the Spicy Blue, which had the perfect balance of heat and bold blue cheese flavor. It was juicy, fresh, and cooked perfectly. My husband went with the Burger Box signature burger, and he absolutely loved it. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in every bite.
One thing I really appreciated is that they also have a kids’ menu, making it a great spot for families. I’ve also been here several times with friends, and every single one of them has loved it too. It’s one of those places that’s consistently delicious no matter who you bring.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, the staff is friendly, and it’s clear they take pride in using fresh, local ingredients. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the beautiful town of New Paltz, Burger Box is a place I’d happily return to again and again. Highly recommend! 🍔

Lola's Cafe
49 Main St, New PaltzThe kids love this place, they get a sticker and a picture of a dog to color with crayons. They eat fries and usually eat some portion of their cheese toast too. For the adults the veggie burger is pretty good.

Robibero Winery
714 Albany Post Rd, New PaltzWe had a tasting and Kevin was AMAZING both with personality and recommendations for things to try. We then bought and shared a bottle of wine between three of us and sat on the deck for a while snacking and playing games and enjoying the atmosphere! They were setting up live music (but we left before that started). HIGHLY recommend if you want to try some good wine and good vibes

Snug Harbor
38 Main St, New Paltz!!!! BTW THERE ISNT A KITCHEN BUT THERE IS ALWAYS SNACKS!!!!!
All of the bartenders here are excellent! Between the daytime and evening staff, myself as well as anyone that comes in is always invited into the establishment by whomever is behind the bar.
During evenings when events are hosted, there is always someone diligent at the door; collecting cover charges and checking IDs speedily and effortlessly on point. Everyone does their best to make sure all guests are tended to, as well as accommodated to the best of Snug’s abilities. They have earplugs if it feels too loud.
The patrons are generally as well as usually always prepared to help anyone that approaches them, whether it be regarding needing a space to order a drink, or to direct them in the necessary place relative to all of the activities and games that the bar is filled with!
All of the Bartenders are AMAZING. I cant compliment them enough, separately or together. They accumulate one cohesive machine run by communication, respect, and camaraderie.
Katie is the sweetest, very professional and efficient always. A fan favorite.
Summer is always on her game and quick on her feet.
Fran is a gem, she knows her stuff and is upon the best of the best.
Chris is extroverted, louder than the speakers, and equally as gentle as the giant may come.
KO is always on game, communicative and friendly to everyone that comes in.
Chuck is there every WENDESDAY for ART NIGHT where you can go in, have all the needs supplied by the bar! You draw a picture, anything (you don't need to be a professional- it’s about the fun!)
Present it to Chuck- if he likes it enough, first drink is on Snugs !!! :)
Kelly is my favorite daytime bartender, she means business and in the most kind as well as amicable way!
Jack is family to everyone. He doesn’t get the name “Uncle Jack” for no reason! Love that guy, anyone will- too easy!
Ed is a funny man and a wonderful man, he loves music and will chat with anyone that had something interesting to talk about.
Hick is the man, the myth, the legend. He is the best of the best. He is the Master of all trades, and never pompous about it. Cool dog, funny guy, name is Hickory- dont get much cooler.
Special shoutout to the door dudes, they keep the bar so safe, they listen and they act.
love u frankie, ur the best <3
love u Z, need to try the hot sauce soon.
love u matt, u rock (literally/figuratively)
I could keep going- won’t.
TL;DR
love this place love these people love the people who keep it the best as best they can (above/beyond) TIP YOUR BARTENDERS, SPEND YOUR CHIPS, GO TO THE EVENTS, GO HERE !

The Lemon Squeeze New Paltz
107 Main St, New PaltzWent to see a show. (Khary) Totally worth the drive. Love a small venue and it was my son’s first live music experience as a young adult and we were not disappointed. Got the wings and chips and salsa. Wings were good.
Khary was so much fun and super engaging. Great crowd all ages. (I am pretty sure I wasn’t the oldest there. lol)
Really good vibe. We’d make the trip again. Will keep an eye on the music schedule. ??
