“NYC history. And NYC present. The story of the place is great. And the cuts of meat are always primo. If you’re a tourist and can’t cook while in NYC, their totes and sweatshirts are a fantastic way to support them”

“If you live in the neighborhood who needs Broadway when this local supermarket has just about everything....and some things that you never thought you needed. The best part about this supermarket is that it's got its own little butcher shop in the back where they will clean up your meats and cut to any specified desire.I feel like the meats are way fresher than what is available on Broadway in most cases. The supermarket is family owned and operated and I have been visiting them for years!”

“Located in the basement of Chelsea Market.Treat yourself to a lobster roll at Lobster Place on the first floor.(I couldn't find it at first)I went and ate it for the second time. The patty is extremely thick and substantial, and when you take a bite of medium-well, the juice flows out.Add jalapenosAdd CheeseI think there was an additional charge of about $3 for the two together.Jalapenos must be added. They grind it and put it on top and it tastes great!!!It's cheaper than a lobster roll, has a lot of quantity, and tastes good, so if you spend that money, I highly recommend eating this instead.(I’m not sure what cucumber pickle tastes like)”

“Great butcher shop! And do not pass on the homemade soups in the cooler! The mushroom barley, bigos and white borsht are all very, very good. The meat selection is also great! On saturdays they have a large variety of premade dishes that they serve fresh, which are also delicious.”

“As a professional chef who has worked on 3 continents, and now works as a private chef in NYC, I shop at Florence Market for the best quality meats, especially pork products and Newport Steaks. Although the shop has changed hands, the level of knowledge, dedication to service, and top quality remains the same because the new owner has worked there for decades. The shop itself has been there for 85+ years, and I for one enjoy the nostalgia that comes with shopping in a small family owned establishment in the Village. The personal touch is always appreciated when it comes to service.Best of luck to the new owners, thanks for keeping this iconic NYC landmark up and running and true to its history, and I'll see you the next time I need perfect pork chops or steaks to serve my family and friends.”

“I bought two huge, whole chickens for $27 to make Hainan chicken rice. It was the best chicken rice I’ve ever made (and I make this every few weeks). Look how yellow it is!I used the bones and trimmings to make chicken stock afterwards. It was the most amazing thing ever.FYI the Hainan chicken rice recipe is courtesy of PRD in LA :)”

“This place sells the best Chinese style roasted peanuts of all the types tried. 有小时候喜欢吃的盲公佬花生(咸脆花生)味道。Perhaps it brings back youth and memories. I live in SF, always try to get the roasted peanuts from here when visiting or ask friends to get it for me when they come to visit SF.”

“I received my order the other day. Upon opening the package , I was extremely impressed by the way it was packed. Everything was precisely position with the the ice. The shrimp was double packed in ice . The meat's were all perfectly placed also. I have ordered meat's and seafood from other companies. The way that others companies packed was not even a comparison to the way that London Meat's company packs their product. London Meat's takes their time to pack their meats and their seafood. This was a major thing for my wife and myself.could not wait to try London meat products. So we tried the bacon for breakfast and the hamburgers for lunch. They were beyond outstanding. Basically they were Fantastic. So we decided to call the London Meat's Company so we can share our delightful experience with them. I spoke with JAY . Jay was as delightful to speak with as his products are . Jay was very professional and took his timeIn speaking with us.London Meat's is one fantastic company. The meat's and the seafood are great. The delivery time is very precise. The staff is plain old GREAT.They should not go unnoticed by the general public. Thanks againMaureen and Peter AltmanWest Babylon New York”

Its been weeks and I still remember the taste. they gave me specific instructions on how to cook it which was very helpful. The steak was huge and fed 3 people. I will be returning for another dry aged steak”

“The meats look great too, but I am rating the sandwich I had there. I’m a huge sandwich fan and roast beef is not my go-to, but their Roast Beast sandwich is possibly my favorite sandwich in lower Manhattan (where I live).”

“Seriously the best jerky I've ever had! This shop has been around for decades and I highly recommend. When ever I'm in town, I make sure to buy a pound. It's cash only. And you can select from sweet or spicy, beef or pork.”

“Casablanca is Excellent when it comes to Fresh Meat to.Order God Bless Casablanca for Being in business for so long I have been shopping there since 1980 .........The Meat is Fresh ...Well Known for being the Best Butcher East to West”

“The meats here are of high quality. I've had the chicken legs, pork chops, ground beef and ribeye steaks. The chicken legs are a large size but when you eat it, you don't feel heavy at all. The ground beef is good when cooked in conjunction with other items like hamburger and spaghetti or burger over rice, etc. It's a bit think for hamburgers directly on buns.”

“Dicksons Meats is one of the only places in NYC that raises and processes their own meats. I had the hotdog and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. Paired with the mustard - it was possibly the best hotdog in New York...Great place. One, they don't have beef tartare on the menu but they made some for me anyway. Delicious. Two, they were playing one of my favourite albums by kaytranada on some decent speakers. Five stars...!!!?”

“July 4, 2023,What a way to have a barbecue, get it nice and hot throw on a Piccinini 42 oz. Porterhouse and a couple of their outstanding filets, get the grill marks and lip smacking good. We can’t say enough about the quality that you provide. Thank you again!Ps Dad gave me a marrow bone to munch on!BuzzIt’s now then end of thanksgiving 2022, and I must say that for the last 2 years we have been buying our thanksgiving turkeys from you and bar none there is no better. They’re just outstanding yes they’re more costly then when you buy from a supermarket or even a local butcher. However, there’s thanksgiving and you deserve only the best and that’s what Piccinini gives you. Thank you.Since the last time I wrote my little buddy @bizy_buzz, said, Dad it's time you wrote another review telling Piccinini Bros how great they are, and how wonderful the products are that we get from them. He said tell them the truth that "they're you favorite," so when little Buzz speaks I listen! Thank you again from all of us!We started buying from Piccinini about 18 months ago, basically when they started accepting online orders and delivering to NYC and Long Island. What a blessing, The quality and selection of provisions is simple amazing. Over the years I have purchased a significant amount of similar products from D'Artagnan and Agata on 79th Street in NYC. Now, I'd say pretty much all of my meat comes from Piccinni, as does the poultry and various other assorted items. The biggest bonus is that I get my frozen marrow bones for my puppy too, which is of the utmost importance to me. They are a wonderful purveyor, a caring provider and a local business and they need community support. The racks of lamb I served our company last night, naturally are the same you'd get in your upscale restaurant. they were just simply amazing. I felt compelled to posting this note, most of what I post are restaurant reviews but I needed to do this! Thank you Sylvie and staff!”

“I didn’t catch the Aussie guy’s name but he was a gem. Super nice guy who shared with me where they source their meats from Upstate, and how passionate the owners are about the quality of their product — to the extent that they drive up themselves to purchase some of the meat they sell in-store.While it may be pricey, their products are worth it if you want the best quality possible. You can 100% taste the difference! Finally, given that costs are through the roof recently, there aren’t too many places like this left in New York. I am so glad this place is still around, and would encourage you to patronize this business. (No I don’t not work for them.)”

“Nice neighborhood butcher and sandwich shop. They butcher their own meats and can prep certain dishes for pre-ordering, such as turkeys etc. It also sells vegetables and fruits in season. Overall, a nice place to shop for the folks in the neighborhood”
