About Self-Realization Fellowship (NYC Center)

The Self-Realization Fellowship (NYC Center) is a branch of a worldwide religious movement founded by Paramahansa Yogananda, the author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi. The purpose of the fellowship is to share scientific techniques of yoga meditation for attaining direct personal experience of God. The New York City Center (NYCC) regularly conducts weekly meditation services and events that are free and open to the public. Visitors describe it as a "rare gem" that offers a clear and direct path to God consciousness, laid out by a modern-day saint. The center is a "beautiful and charged space" that is conducive for group meditation and fellowship with others on the same spiritual journey. Described as an "oasis of peace" in the busy city, the NYCC presents a unique, nonsectarian path open to all, showing the unity of Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. Opportunities to serve and invest in one's spiritual growth are welcomed, as the more one puts in, the greater the returns in life.
