“We shopped around at many stores but we went with NYSD. We felt more comfortable with them. At the showroom Chris and Jane gave us a lot of advice and help with the patience of saints. The planner Jimmy skillfully put the plans together. We got glass shower door headers(door rail) and low e glass all around for both bathrooms. A low e glass towel bar on one door and a finger pull on the other. They installed everything cleanly and perfectly. Absolutely beautiful! I want to emphasize this next point. We wanted clips on the walls and floors. Jane, Chris and Jimmy discouraged the clips on the bottom, instead to use a U-channel to keep mildew at bay. Of course we didn’t listen at first. Then after much research, it all made sense to go with U-channel at the bottom. I am so happy I listened to 40 years of knowledge. Listen to them they know what they are talking about. Thank you Jane, Chris and Jimmy. See pictures.”

“Great place has everything from a Ball Cock Valve to a copy of Yentl on vinyl. Was in the other day to buy a pencil and walked out with a Lionel Train set from 1965. The owner Tommy fived the dent on my Camaro by simply denting the other side so the dents matched and looked factory. Caught a shoplifter named "Sticky Fingers" Nicky and Tommy, the owner. gave me a choice of a roll of electrical tape or some bug repellent as a reward. Aces!!”

“I recently purchased several U.S. General Heavy-Duty 5-Tier Shelving Units from the Harbor Freight on Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon. The shelving itself is excellent—very sturdy, well-designed, and exactly what I needed.
One of the pieces had a small manufacturing defect, but the experience that followed was even more impressive than the product itself. John D., the store manager, handled the situation immediately and without hesitation. He was professional, accommodating, and resolved the issue with absolutely no hassle. The outcome exceeded my expectations.
I also want to recognize Elvis, the Senior Associate, who was incredibly helpful throughout the process. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely took the time to make sure everything went smoothly.

“Ordered a Mercury Avator 7.5E from Freeport Marine. It arrived quickly but was unfortunately damaged during the shipment.
I contacted Freeport Marine immediately, expecting the worst, and spoke with Caitlyn. What a pleasant surprise Caitlyn turned out to be. She was caring and sympathetic to my call. She detailed the procedure we would have to go through to either make repairs or return the motor. Multiple emails back and forth between Caitlyn and myself as Caitlyn worked to solve multiple issues. Turned out we returned the motor. We had some delivery issues that needed to be worked out as we live in a rural area making delivery difficult.
Caitlyn was awesome in addressing those issues to complete the return and delivery of the new motor from Mercury through Freeport Marine.
I am very happy with the responsiveness of Mercury, Freeport Marine and especially Caitlyn for their professionalism and support and highly recommend doing business with Freeport Marine.”
“Amazing experience at this store today because of Billy! Extremely courteous and helpful. Went to the back and grabbed a toolbox for me and looked for a long time for another tool that they unfortunately did not have in stock. These days you walk into many stores and can't find anyone to help you but this store is very different it's two thumbs up. Billy worked at a different location previously and was always extremely helpful anytime I've visited the store. “Great “hometown” hardware store. Very clean & well laid out. Staff have helped me multiple times with advice on home projects & finding things in store.
Prices are on par with big box retailers. Will definitely continue coming here, even if it’s for a simple key cut.
*Only advice to others, don’t expect to find on street parking because they’re located on a busy road/intersection. I found theres a public lot right near the store within a block or so. Problem solved

“Chris is great!!! Here is the story. I contacted him from one of his signs to do my driveway. He was responsive and we set up a time to do the job. Price was very reasonable. I had just returned from a 2 week vacation and forgot we had the job scheduled, Chris did not forget. He was prompt, friendly and did a great job. 10 minutes after he left the skies opened up and completely wiped away the sealcoat. It was on the Belgium block and parts of the house. He came right back, power washed and cleaned it and then came back 2 days later after the rain stopped and did the job, again. It's not every day you find someone that is fair and honorable. I am recommending Chris to everyone if you want the job done professionally by a true gentleman. Thanks Chris.”

“My father is a disabled Vietnam Veteran and uses a walker to help him get around. A screw fell out and it was unstable and unsafe for him to use. I took the walker to the hardware store to see if they would be able to help me replace the screw. I was greeted with a happy hello and asked what I needed help with. A lovely employee named Christina took the walker placed it on the counter and installed the screw for me herself for me. I was so grateful that she was able to help us with this situation. We shop here for all our home improvement needs and recommend this store to anyone who wants a friendly…helpful …attentive staff who goes out of their way to make sure you leave with what was needed”
