Butler's Flat Clam Shack
86 Orchard Beach Boulevard, Port WashingtonOn Labor Day we decided to drive out to Port Washington and eat at the clam shack. We brought our dog as we were heading to the nearby preserve. It was a very pleasant place and there was a bit of a line but while we were in line, someone asked us if we were eating there and put us on the list for a table. With in 5 minutes after we ordered, we were seated at a table with a view of the harbor. This was my first time here. I wasn’t sure how well my Shiba would behave. No one near us complained (that I was aware of). It took her a bit to settle in and they brought a water bowl for her. When the food came it was fresh from the kitchen. I ordered the fried scallops and he had the fish tacos. Although I’m from New England, I now reside in the South. It’s been a very long time since I’ve had such wonderfully delectable scallops! Fried to perfection, served with fries, so yummy! Thank you for reminding me what they’re supposed to taste like. The tacos were great too. We both had a great meal and thank every one on the staff for the great food, great service and tolerance of my shedding Shiba. It was a really nice day experience.
