“Hipocampo Children’s Books is such a special shop. Even though I don’t have kids of my own, it’s always my go-to for baby shower gifts, birthdays, and “just because” surprises. Their selection is thoughtful, unique, progressive, and truly inclusive—I always leave knowing I’ve chosen something meaningful, not just cute. It’s the kind of place where you trust that whatever you pick will both delight a child and offer something to learn from. A wonderful resource for our community and such a joy to shop in.”
“I had amazing service at the cafe from Alistare and another associate who's name I didn't catch. Not only did they represent the company well, they made my dietary restrictions (no dairy) a priority when making suggestions. The suggestions took my breakfast from good to amazing, and I will 10/10 be going back to this cafe for more drinks and muffins!”
“Give yourself plenty of time to peruse the vast collection of pre-enjoyed treasures. Pet the kitty, who will surely follow you curiously as you lose yourself among the many stories awaiting you. Love this place.”
“Franlee is dynamite! This book store is amazing!!!!! I encourage you all to shop here often! Franlee is also a treasure trove of information not only about the amazing selection of used books she curates, but also about everything Rochester. Simply the absolute best used bookstore ever. All my love!!!!! <3”
“Loved it . I went to get a book by Jerry Eicher. The Amish school teacher. Not only did they not have that particular book, but they had no books by this author as well as none in this genre. The supervisor and I had a wonderful talk about the books, she was pleased to order the book for me, as well as adding a new genre to the library. She said she had never heard of these writings and was going to order the book for me post haste! ?. I was told I was getting homework and then I was given a printout of other Amish fiction authors and told to circle the ones that I wanted and they would be purchased to place into the library. That is great now I have something to look forward to during these cold fall and winter days. I'm glad I changed my mind and went to the small library as opposed to the larger library, now they'll have new books at this location, yay. ? Thank you Shameka!!!”
“In this day and age, almost seems everything ( mainly ) books and magazines are digital. ( Library's )
are of course a different area.
Of course there are exceptions like maybe a gas station and groceries stores ( Wegmans/Tops ) there a some of the above that you can pick-up and physically read.
Now enter Barnes & Noble :
Is a Library ( of ) course can not use a Library card to check things out.
But it has tons of magazines, books and so, so, much more.
And a children's area helps you
if looking for something educational.
So if are looking for something unique in a place to find that hidden book or more go to Barnes & Noble.”
“A great place to find unique works. I visited during the Fringe festival for a show hosted here called 'Play in a day' and it was fantastic. Writers and Books is a literary oasis and non-profit organization supporting local creators.
In waiting for my show to begin I found an eclectic assortment of books by local authors in the indie book store within, &Ampersand Books. I did not have enough time to peruse the entire store, but I definitely need to carve out time to come back, and soon.”
“💀I don't leave a lot of reviews because I mostly forget to. But honestly, after reading one of the Fiction books they have here, I decided to. Boa has a nice selection of authors, I'll say. 🧐”
“Good place to buy textbooks with a great selection of necessities and campus apparel.Cashiers were nice when I was checked out. Nearly everything is very expensive, far higher price than average for respective items.”

“So far the atmosphere is full of joy and curiosity. The new building makes you feel at home. Everyone is kind to each other. I have no cons but I'll update y'all if I come across some.”
“Huge selection of books and I was able to find some hidden gems. The price is great, I only paid $1 per book. I have been there over 20 times. They buy my old books and I couldn't be happier.”
“I am giving 5/5 stars for the excellent customer service. I purchased a sweatshirt for my husband and I that says “Rochester” on it (which is very cute and very hard to find anywhere else for some reason) but his size was too small. We came back to Rochester where we live but I was concerned about how I would exchange it since I had to go through TSA to get to the store. I went on their website, submitted an inquiry with my receipt and was contacted by email and phone very quickly! The store manager called me and said it was no problem to make the exchange. Not only did he call but he met me at “Arrivals” so I didn’t have to come out of my car and park in the cell phone lot! It was concierge customer service that really put a smile on my face. It may seem simple but it impressed both me and my husband. Thanks so much for the great service! I would buy more sweaters if I had another plane to catch! 😆”
“Huge Barnes and noble. A lot of UR stuff. A lot of places to sit and look over books. A place to park a bike and right next door to the Hilton hotel and college. Two levels There is no coffee place. Children area”
“Such a perfect little book and unique wears store. Amazing candles, so many tarot/oracle options, all the cute stickers and so many titles I hadn’t seen. I grabbed a sea salt and orchid candle which is currently lit in my home and smells divine. Make sure you visit with some time to explore!”
