“Booked a night here for a work trip/meeting through Hyatt & MMS partnership and it did not disappoint. They honored Globalist room upgrade and had an awesome staff from front desk (Robin especially) to the rest. Really cool building in a great area. I’m always staying in Manhattan when I come to NYC for work, which is pretty frequent, so it’s nice to change it up. There were croissant cookie type things from their bakery in my room, too, which were too good not to eat, unfortunately. Walking distance to Paolina Falafel & L’Industrie Pizza, both highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again will probably become one of my regular places I stay in NYC as long as they’re partnered with Hyatt.”

“Lucinda at the front desk was absolutely wonderful—friendly, professional, and very helpful. She made check-out smooth and welcoming. The hotel was clean, and the rooms were nice and spacious, which made the stay even better. Excellent customer service and a great experience overall at the Point Plaza Hotel!”

“The stay was great, the rooms are toooo overpriced for the size but the amenities the hotel have and location is very good and made sense. Went to the restaurant and Candace was a WONDERFUL server. Ended up having her for dinner then breakfast and her service never wavered. My sister and I went out the night before to somewhere near by and the hotel had a 24 hr food area! Was great for late night snacks before bed and the guy that helped us then was just as great. I wish I saved the photos I took of the food. Overall it’s a very expensive stay and if I had the money I’d stay there multiple times a year other than that great experience.”
“I was there this past Monday and Tuesday night because of attending a concert in the area. The location of the hotel compared to the venue of the concert was one of the best parts, it was a 4 minute walk to the venue.
The hotel was super clean, and the front desk staff was super nice. The only bad part of the hotel stay was that it was advertised that we could get room service / food by a certain time. I had called and even went down to the restaurant, and it was not open, and nobody answered the phone. Also, our room had the balcony, and the door lock was not working, which made the room super cold Monday night because of the temperature in NY.
Everything else was wonderful and I would stay again if I have a concert near that location again.”

“We’ve stayed at Arlo Williamsburg 4–5 times now, and they never let us down. It is literally my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is consistently amazing warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful and the rooms are beautifully appointed.
This stay was extra special because we were there on our honeymoon, and we stayed in a suite. The views of Manhattan are absolutely incredible. Lying in bed or sitting on the couch, looking out at the New York City skyline through the floor-to-ceiling windows, is pure magic.
The bathroom is next level: a spacious shower with dual shower heads and a separate claw-foot tub both overlooking Manhattan. My bride loved soaking in the tub, sipping the champagne the hotel surprised us with for our honeymoon, while taking in that unforgettable skyline view.
To top it all off, the hotel left us a handwritten welcome card congratulating us on our wedding, along with a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries. That level of care and attention truly sets Arlo Williamsburg apart.
This hotel goes above and beyond every single time, and that’s exactly why we keep coming back. We absolutely love it here and can’t wait for our next stay.”
“My boyfriend and I stayed here a couple of months ago and it really changed my perception about how much it matters where you stay on vacation.Every morning we had breakfast with other couples and people who all come from various walks of life. Each conversation was stellar and insightful. Not to mention our wonderfully spirited and kind host Randy who not only made sure we had a great stay, but gave us great life advice and has wisdom worth millions. We will never forget our experience! Hope to be back soon. :)”
“TO ALL WHO VISIT N.Y
C. FROM KENNEDY OR LA GUARDIA,, THIS IS THE HOTEL TO REST ON YOUR VACATION WHY? BECAUSE ITS RIGHT NEXT TO AIRPORT, TRAIN IS 5 MIN WALK , ITS NEW CLEAN, MALL INSIDE WITH RESTAURANTS, STARBUCKS, STEAKHOUSE, CHINESE,PIZZA, BREAKFAST , CASINO BIG WINDOWS OPEN SPACE LIKE U IN COUNTRY, NICE GYM, WAY BETTER PRICES THAN MANHATTAN TAKE TRAIN TO CITY 35 MIN U THERE.”
“The room was great, the housekeeping services were above and beyond, the breakfast was amazing, but the staff were the absolute best part of staying here. They were all so sweet and kind. Especially the woman who regularly maintains the breakfast area. I wish I got her name, she was so friendly and when my hands were full bringing up food for my kids, she handed me a tray and told me to take it up to the room. Such a sweet lady. I wish I had the chance to say bye to her when we left! The staff are just amazing.”

“My sister has stayed here close to a million times and recommended it to me. Decided to finally book for my 1 year anniversary/ my boyfriend's birthday. After reading these Yelp reviews, I was a little apprehensive but ultimately there were no issues! Booking through Expedia allowed me to get a free bottle of Prosecco on arrival. The room was larger than I anticipated, and larger than the rooms at nearby hotels. Everything was clean, the bed was soft and comfortable, and the views from the balcony were outstanding. Will be back!”
“Bed was comfortable, room service was impeccable, only downside is they knock while you’re sleeping, despite the door tag stating you don’t need room service. Had to get front desk to get our room card working several times as it would stop working every time we left the building with it. The parking lot is tiny, and almost everyone double parks, so you chance your car being out on the street.
Other than that, I would actually suggest you choose this place if you’re on a budget, rooms are cute and affordable. Only people allowed in the room are people staying. Max people per room is 2.”
“Great cheap spot. Really good for raunchy photos and videos and making memories. Have a few memories here with friends. The jacuzzi rooms are nice but always booker for some reason as of lately…
Location is stellar, right by the grand central, easy access to different parts of queens and easy to get to the other boroughs and Long Island.”
“I'm a New Yorker born and bred, so when I tell you New York has changed boy I'm not kidding! This is the first time I had to pay to stay at a hotel. Surprisingly with the city bring over crowded we had a difficult time locating a room ourselves. So we got a booking agent. She got a nice room at Best Western on Van Wyck. Room was clean and nice. Especially the bathroom. The receptionist was knowledgeable and pleasant. My only negative experience was the breakfast. It was unappealing and their wasn't good choices. Being this hotel is consider to be choice. I expect more. There was cereal, yogurt. Just Blah! Best Western needs to do a better job.”
“clean and spacious rooms. nice location, near metro!
we booked via booking.com
free breakfast included. every day you have to get a breakfast voucher at reception. then there is a menu (actually two, one which is included in the room rate and one premium which is 15$)
when you go with the free breakfast, you still end up paying some fees and taxes, depending on how much you ordered. i think thats kind of weird.
room doors are def not soundproof!”
“First time in a Pod Hotel, will return here often. Great location, staff and run very nice. Had everything needed for a last minute booking. Comfortable bed, AC worked well. I even enjoyed the shower, which is like an RV/Boat shower utilizing the toilet area. Smart design, overall I would recommend this to my family and friends.”
“Silver Gull Beach Club provided a blissful beachfront experience. The pristine sands and ocean views were breathtaking, and the amenities were top-notch. A must-visit for a day of sun and relaxation.”
“Been coming here for years. Staff is always nice to me & my fiancé. Never had no issues at all coming here. It had a vending machine in lobby full of chips/candy/soda. Also they had 4 hour rooms & over night stays. It is no longer a hotel it’s now a shelter. I will miss coming here so much !!!!Walkability: Walkable to the avenue, and near buses to travel. Food areas are close by.Food & drinks: Different places to eat”

“I just parked there for airport ride.
Coming back shuttle is a hustle.
You have to take the train. To fed circle then call and wait 40 min for their shuttle.
So it’s not worth it.”
“A lot more pleasant staff than you would expect in a JFK airport hotel. Rooms are up to standard, the restaurant was pretty good with one friendly and extremely overworked guy (and maybe someone in the back, but for all I know he cooked the meals too), and the neighborhood is actually pretty nice to walk around. Parking is $40 a day but that's NYC for you.”

“Upon checking in, I was kindly greeted by Fabian and Siara. I wasn’t expecting to stay in New York, but my flight got delayed. Their warm welcome and assistance to all my questions was very helpful. My room was super clean. After a mini hectic airport experience having this hotel encounter was just what I needed. Super grateful for their service! 5-star all the way! Also, ask Siara for reliable local car/transportation services - she knows a reputable driver - great pricing.”

“This was close to the airport. Waited over an hour for the shuttle (aka, SUV) then he was rude, and drove so fast, with music so loud. We almost hit another car. The desk gal was nice. There was glass on our room floor, just small shards sparkling with my flashlight, after 4 pokes, I had to put back on my shoes. Noisy 1st floor. Ck out was easy. The driver in the AM was nice,”

“I booked with JBS a few weeks ago and my booking was confirmed through a booking site. On the day of my arrival, I received a text message that my reservation was cancelled due to a plumbing issue. I called the establishment and left a Vmsg on whether I can cancel my payment for I could rebook another date. Within 2 minutes, the property manager returned my call to alert me that there was an plumbing issue before I booked with JBS and that my refund was totally taken care of. I live in the same neighborhood as JBS an wanted a nice quaint little house setting for some family members by the beach, for I didn’t have enough room in my bungalow to host them. The property manager, who name I can’t remember, was totally professional with the situation and offered my a special deal, if I decide to book JBS in the future. I definitely wish to book that spot for a little staycation!”

“Rooms are decent. Clean and with all basic amenities. Only thing to note is that the shuttle to the airport only runs once every hour. So if you end up at say 2:15 at the airport, you need to wait till 3 for the shuttle. Otherwise you'll have to take a cab.”
“This is a really nice hotel it's a bit pricey for my taste. In any event me and my girl friend decided to get a room. The rooms are incredibly spacious and stylish. The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were clean and soft.Rooms: As I said the room we stayed in was huge and stylish and the bathroom looked like a walk in closet that's how big it was. Also I have to mention the bathroom was very clean and smelled good.Safety: Me and my girl friend felt very safe during our stay at fortune. Also it was quiet.Walkability: Hotel Fortune is within walking distance of the stores, restaurants and Bodega's. Also there is a nice park that is close by.”

“We had a lovely room. Unfortunately the ocean view was obstructed by scaffolding. But, the service was impeccable. Sharon assisted us by keeping our bags after check out time so we could experience another day walking the lovely boardwalk. Morning with a coffee pot on the table was greatly appreciatedWalkability: We were pleasantly surprised this hotel was on the beach with a lovely boardwalk.Food & drinks: The mezzanine bar/lounge served a delicious meal. I had the meatballs and my husband had a very flavorful ribeye. Christian was an excellent bartender/server.”

“It's close to J train, and several busses. Staff helpful, security on their job.Rooms: Rooms are usually clean but a few times I noticed shower dirty.Safety: Their also a homeless temporary shelter. A lot of drugs go through that hotel and I've seen people come out hurt after being set up.Walkability: A lot of busses and J and L train close”
“I think people expect the Ritz sometimes with their reviews. For a hotel, on a connection to Europe it was great for our family. Proximity to airport was very good, food was good both breakfast and dinner. We slept well...And people were very nice at front desk.”

“I would give it 5 stars because everything went nice and smoothly. However, the rooms are SO SMALL! We got the king size bed and the pictures looked more spacious but it was so tiny! Also, anytime anyone opened or shut the door the whole room shifted a bit! But, altogether it wasn't a bad stay!”
“This is my fourth summer staying at The Rockaway Hotel, and I genuinely love supporting local businesses—especially one that allows for a chic little staycation so close to home. The location is ideal, and this summer, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in the beach amenities. Chris is doing a fantastic job—truly a highlight of the experience.
That said, there are a few things I wish the hotel would consider for future guests:
• Room Comfort: The pillows in the rooms leave much to be desired, and the lack of USB or USB-C charging ports feels outdated in 2025.
• Weekend Experience: Be aware that summer weekends feature live concerts on the patio that go until 10 PM—fun for some, but not exactly conducive to a relaxing evening.
• Pricing vs. Value: Rates on weekends are steep given the room size and overall service level.
• Family-Friendly Vibes: While I understand that families make up a large part of the clientele, the pool area can get quite chaotic. As someone who comes to unwind, I often wish there was a more serene, adults-only vibe—at least in designated spaces.
Still, The Rockaway Hotel has carved out a special niche, and I continue to return because the location, the team, and the spirit of the place feel like summer to me. I hope they keep evolving—and listening.”
