“LAKESIDE LODGING REVIEW
Will be a long review but from a first time stay experience!! My stay was about 2 weeks ago so I hope I remember everything!!
If you are looking for a review on LAKESIDE LODGING but don't to read all of this - I recommend staying here it is worth it. I will save the negatives for the end.
I have been going to Lake George about three times a year for the past few years. I used to go a lot as a kid. We typically stay at Surfside or Marriott or Quality Inn. After looking at many potential options, I found that Lakeside Lodging by Northern Living would have been the same price as a suite at Surfside or Sundowner or any of the other resorts in the village. However, this place has 2 bathrooms which is huge... and in unit washer and dryer and full kitchen. Also 2 balconies and 2 parking spaces per unit. That is a much better payout than the resorts in the village.
With that being said, I walked into the village every day - about 3 times a day. It was only about a 10-15 minute walk. Mind you - you will be sidetracked by the amazing views at million dollar beach. Staying at resorts that are in the village are convenient but if you do not mind walking about a mile - you will be in the village in no time. The accommodations are worth it.
If you are looking for a lake view - units 7 and 8 are the best view. I stayed in unit 10 and the view was not terrible. You can see the steamboat company. The view is obstructed by a boat company but honestly... it is so cool to see them work.
I do want to warn anyone that books unit 10 - the address for the whole place is 10 front street. I had people coming to the door asking for people I have never met because they thought that our unit was where their friends were staying. In the contract - you cannot have any guests. I did notice other guests had people come who were not staying there. Also noticed people smoking cigarettes which is not allowed on the property. Our neighbors were quite loud which was not a huge issue.. they had children. but you can hear pretty clearly through the walls. Someone who was staying in unit 8 had the fire alarm go off one time. It was going for at least 20 minutes and a woman had a pan that was smoking on the balcony. So you are close to your neighbors.
At night - the lamps did not work at the stairs. It wasn't until our third night that the lamps worked. I am sure I could have contacted them about this and it would have been fixed, it didn't bother me much but my mother did have trouble with the stairs. Units 1-6 have no stairs. units 7-12 will have stairs from parking.
The unit was incredible. So clean and the full kitchen was awesome. I think it is perfect for 2-4. 6 in my opinion is pushing it.
We did not get our code for the door until 4:10 ish. It does say that you can get your code sooner if the unit is ready. I checked and no one was booked in our unit before our arrival, so it was a little annoying that we had to wait a little bit to get in.
The deposit is kind of annoying but I got it back in like 2 days. I will definitely consider coming back but would book units 7 or 8 for the view. The workers that were there preparing units were very friendly. The Garrison is right across the street and is perfect if you just want to get a few drinks and cheap bar food. If you want to be fancy, the steakhouse across the way is a good option.
overall I loved this place. anything negative that happened during my stay was just normal - unavoidable stuff. Like the noisy guests and the lamps not working at night. not that big a deal. I recommend staying here.”
“This is my third time staying at Stone Gate. The place is absolutely perfect. What stands out is their attention to details. The staff is incredible. Everyone is welcoming. I love how kids can be slightly independent. They can walk over to the playground, basketball and soccer area. Not many places are like that. The lake swimming area is ideal for swimmers with different levels of abilities. At night it was so relaxing to sit around the fire pit roasting marshmallows. Just all around great fun.”
“This isn't just a place to lay your head at night; it was a full experience.
Location! Park your car all week and walk into town.
The owners and staff are professional, kind, and prompt with requests, and they are just Amazing!
The facility is beautiful. They are constantly updating, improving, and finding ways to upgrade your experience.
Clean. The rooms smell fresh and CLEAN when you walk in. Staff are continually cleaning and tidying the outdoor common areas and are keen on safety.
The free nightly activities offered are perfect for anyone, but they have a huge economic impact on a family of five.
The money spent was well worth it!
We have been a returning client for five years and plan to continue doing so. The only time we went elsewhere was when there was no vacancy for the time we chose.
Thank you for the memories; I look forward to returning!”

“Fantastic from start to finish, I love this place! I've rented a cabin (Otter) and suite (5). Owners are wonderful and were able to accommodate an early check in. Both the cabin and suite were spacious and clean. You're also close to plenty of restaurants and and the location is easily accessible from the highway. Plan to return again!”

“Joe was an amazing host. We had the George room with a deck and view of the lake. The place was quiet and tranquil no loud music. The best part is direct access to the lake with kayaks, boats, boards, all at your disposal and inclusive! Ask Joe about boat rentals and efoils as well. Will be back definitely! Thanks again Joe it was a great pleasure.”

“We had a great stay! The rooms are so clean and it is so quiet. Our room was cleaned every day of our stay. So nice to come back after a long day of hiking to a made bed with fresh towels and refilled coffee! The location was great (within walking distance to several shops and restaurants) and the price is affordable. Next time we are in the area we would love to stay again.”
“First time at Melody Manor. Was greeted warmly and with so much kindness. I’m loving my experience so far. Can’t wait for the rest of the weekend. Our room has a beautiful view and is so spacious. Couldn’t ask for more.”

“We stayed 2nights it was good the management is kind.
only need to keep more clean the floor of bathrooms was dirty, BBQ grill was very old got broken outside the rooms nests of spiders.
Looks like they don't care
at night it was cold”
“This is the 4th year in a row we stayed here. We love the location. Front desk person at check in on July 7 was very attentive and hospitable. Grounds are well maintained and clean. Plenty of barbacue grills to use, which we do for lunch to avoid getting price gouged at restaurants”
“My niece just got married there this past weekend. Historic Castle with beautiful views. We did not stay on site. The wedding party stayed in the suites in the castle after the wedding and they loved it. The property is so beautiful. Especially this time of year. They had the outdoor fire place and outdoor heaters on for the chilly night. The whole entire staff was so wonderful. From the food, to the setting up and execution of the whole event. Went so smoothly!! Your Staff was very attentive and kept the appetizers, drinks and food coming. I would recommend the mashed potatoe station! That was a hit with us. Highly recommend this venue. Thank you all for a memorable day!! 10/17/2024.”
“We had a wonderful stay at Cramer’s Point Lake Breeze! Todd personally met us when we arrived to make sure everything with our accommodations was perfect, which was such a thoughtful touch. The lake access was excellent, a short walk down the hill, the walk back up gets the heart pumping. The fishing was spot on—such a great bonus to our trip. The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot to stay!”
“Love this property, love the pups, love the view and the owners are great! All 3x we have been here have been great. Property is quite and well maintained! See you next August and enjoy the slopes this winter!”
“The location of this hotel is great. It is only a short 5-minute walk to the village. The cabins are perfect for a getaway. The staff is friendly and professional. They can answer any questions that you have. The cabins include your own private grill. The grounds are perfect with a private beach access Lake access, and kayaks. They also have a fire pit that they sell wood and fire starters right on site.”
“Booked a room last minute and was pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. The room was clean and reasonably priced. the place was nice and quiet. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip. Jus far away from all the camotion from the town of lake George But not too far.”
“My family and I have been traveling to lake George for 3 years now.
Stay in the same location and it’s great.
Clean, safe and convenient.
I felt safe at any hour of the day or night we went out to go down by the lake. It’s secure for children. The entrance is one way in and one way out.
To top it off Wendy makes you feel at home! Shes great, very pleasant with all her guest. She really makes a difference.
We honestly look forward seeing Wendy and come up each year!”
“Rooms: Some rooms allow dogs. Make sure you specify if you don't want barking neighbors.. Rooms are slightly dated but very spacious. Includes in-room Nespresso machine and small fridge. Lots of water pressure.
Walkability: 15-20 walk to Bolton Landing and a handful of restaurants
Noteworthy details: Very, very expensive EV charging.”
“A true Adirondack feel that's close to both Six Flags and Lake george village. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the hot tub on both days of our stay. We did not get the chance to use the sauna room though. We also enjoyed cooking on the brand new BBQ/smoker in the back next to the fire pit that they provide. The owners were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area with many helpful suggestions on activities to do during our stay. If your looking for a private Adirondack stay this is it. Your in the center of all the action with a trolly that passed by often that takes you to and from the village and other activities in the area. Upon arriving you'll be met with the scent of coffee and cedar from the office that reminded me of my mother's cabin at camp. We truly enjoyed our stay at this establishment.”
“If you are looking for ambience and a classic Adirondack experience the boathouse Waterfront Lodge is the place for you! I can't say enough wonderful things about it! Joe and Patti are so personable, very quick to make you feel at home and if you ask Joe to take you out on his boat he his filled with tons of historical information about Lake George.
Rooms: The rooms are quaint, clean and comfortable and offer all the amenities you need. The main living/dining area is grand with gorgeous hardwood floors, rustic beam ceilings and big, oversized, leather couches in front of a beautiful stone fireplace.. The entire Lodge provides exquisite charm!
Walkability: In addition to your stay you can easily walk in to the lovely town of Bolton Landing for lunch, dinner or some shopping or go up to the Sagamore Hotel, another gem of Lake George.
Food & drinks: There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate at your disposal all times along with home baked pastries in the moring.
Noteworthy details: The property itself is gorgeous inside and out. The views from the porches are majestic and they are decked with comfy, striped, cushioned wicker furniture for your leisure. The entire lodge provides exquisite charm. It is filled with historical and personal mementos and unique décor, new and old. It is simply lovely!”
“This is the 2nd time in 3 years that me and the wife made the trip. Once again we were satisfied. We were able to check in early. Swim in the heated pool.We also learned that the poolside snack bar does breakfast, lunch and serves liquor. Chris W runs this bar and is super friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding activities and places of interest. P.S we also swam in the lake. Definitely going back next year when the season starts a week before Memorial Day.”
“We had a great time at Motel Montreal. The bathroom and room were super clean, very friendly staff, and the AC wasn't as loud as the tracalaco. Good location. We loved Lake George.”

“We just returned from a 4 night stay in the Cottage and it was excellent. Staff was very friendly especially Heather and Rachel.
Room was very, very clean. Bed extremely comfortable and the sheets smelled so fresh. Cottage is very cozy and I was able to keep all our luggage on the huge dresser, and off the floor.
It is off season so very few guests and very quiet. Everything is within walking distance so that was perfect. The beach was just beautiful and right outside our private patio. My only "con" was that the plumbing was noisy at times but very minor.
Will definitely be back!”

“Clean. Quiet, very easy in and out. Clean rooms, and the housekeeping lady did a great job! Staff were very friendly and very all great experience. The back door deck on each room and brook running by was so nice!”
“The hotel is right off a highway exit which made it a scary deal both trying to get out and into the parking lot. The hallways smelled awful and were hot and humid. Everything in the room was ok except my clothes all felt damp as if humidity was high despite the AC being on.
The fridge froze everything solid which was disappointing. People above us came in late and stomping around and laughing loudly and the walls and ceiling are paper thin so they woke me and I had a hard time sleeping again and we had early day the next day. The breakfast was great lot of options and something for everyone.
The room was clean, the beds were ok but kind of lumpy mattress. I realize not a high end hotel just wanted to note some of the things I recall. The staff were all friendly and check in and check out went fast and simple. Oh I forgot we came back one day and our card keys didn’t work. They said they thought we were checking out after two nights which made no sense because we paid at check in for three nights.”

“Best experience I've ever had when it comes to service. From the office manager to the housekeeper. The manager was kind, patient, understanding, & all around awesome guy. The housekeeper gentleman was very nice, accommodating, & best of all took the time out of his day to play basketball with my son. He then introduced his son to mine & they had a blast at the arcade just down the road. My son made a friend & I'll always appreciate the kindness we received from The Countryside Inn.”
“If you’re looking for a great place to stay in the Lake George area, this is it. A short drive to whatever you want to experience in the area. Jay and Brittney are very accommodating and gracious hosts. Our breakfast each day was amazing! We had a great experience at this beautiful home!”
