The price was very affordable and reasonable. This then suited my expectations and desires for a quick one night stay in the city. Short walk to the LIRR or 7 subway line was great. (MTA bus line right outside the hotel).
Inside the room, it was modern and well kept to where I felt happy with the hotel selection. I am not a picky or high maintenance person. (Though I did notice a few cosmetic things). Privacy was not a concern. Noise outside is unavoidable unless you're far away from vehicle traffic.
I may have been farther away from the main event I attend (in lower Manhattan), but the accessibility to public transit from the hotel was uplifting.
Bottom line...
If you are a go with the flow, low maintenance, or simplistic person and want a cheap hotel for a good price, I recommend this one. (Plenty of places around to get breakfast, lunch, or dinner).”
“I recently stayed here for a work trip and was thoroughly impressed. Very affordable, great location, very clean and well appointed rooms. Also free breakfast and gym passes to a full gym right around the corner. Couldn’t recommend more!”
“It was a really good experience. I was actually stuck in NY for work and this was one of the only hotels I could find near. I was surprised when I went in my room and saw complimentary snacks. Also the breakfast in the morning was pretty decent for a hotel. The eggs had cheese in them which is a plus! And they actually had turkey sausage!! I don't eat pork so I appreciated that little touch of accommodating different clientele. They also have pork for the pork eaters. Room was clean and I slept good. I probably will never be in NY again but I’d recommend if you are considering it.”

“I had a wonderful 4-night stay earlier this month. The staff was very friendly and offered a delicious welcome cookie upon my arrival. I stayed in the “cozy” room with a queen size bed. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had a nice shower with good water pressure. I felt very safe in this quiet, lovely hotel. I would definitely recommend this place and loved the location for its easy walking proximity to the museums I wanted to see.”

“This part of Flushing feels like Taipei, Hong Kong and Shanghai all wrapped up on one, but right here in New York! I stayed in this hotel for the second time because it’s a fairly easy 20 minute walk to city Field to go see my beloved Mets play… That’s solid option good price for New York. Breakfast is better than almost all American hotels.”

“We stayed at Hotel Scherman on a family trip to NYC, and the two-bedroom suite (Room 402) was absolutely perfect for us. It was surprisingly spacious and spotless, with a comfortable living area, kitchenette, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large outdoor balcony. The kitchenette was well equipped with a Keurig, a small fridge with a freezer, a microwave (in a cabinet), plates, cups, mugs, silverware, and a wine opener.
We also loved the rooftop balcony on the 5th floor for the views, and the continental breakfast was solid, especially the croissants and hard-boiled eggs, which we enjoyed every morning. The location can’t be beat: close to great restaurants, shows, Times Square, and subway stations.
I would absolutely stay at Hotel Scherman again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in New York City.”

“Rooms are fine. Get the ear plugs for street noise. Awesome free breakfast with lots of options. Staff is great. Cheers to Kat! Gym is cool, peloton bike lots of equipment.
Good location in downtown Brooklyn. But bit of a haul to subways and busses not close. Easy to get to BAM, Barclays, china town, midtown. Just five blocks to Junior’s cheesecake, Dekalb food hall.
My second stay here in five years. Rooms larger than midtown and quite affordable. Always crowded, lots of international tourists. Took AirTran from JFK then MTA all for under $10.”

“We stayed here for a long girls weekend. from the moment we walked in, we LOVED it. The staff was so friendly and kind. Notably, Brian, was incredible. He was so attentive and always provided a warm welcome.
I had asked ahead of time for a small gift for my mom and sister, and just asked for a cookie and a card to celebrate them. I was so surprised they sent a small gift for them both + card! They also gave us a free piece of cheesecake at the spyglass for a birthday. The views are great from the rooftop or one of the empire view rooms.
The rooms are clean and cozy. Excellent location in midtown. Walkable everywhere or a 20min cab ride downtown or further out.
Would absolutely stay here again!”

“The Blue Moon hotel feels like you have traveled back in time the moment you step inside the lobby. The hotel was clean, rooms were lovely and spacious, for a NYC hotel. This is a historic, family run hotel, so don’t expect fancy amenities, although our room was equipped with a small fridge, burner and sink on an ample size counter, and you can order your fridge pre-stocked. Beds were very comfortable. Located right across the street from the Tenement Museum. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.”

“I found my new NYC hotel! The location is amazing as you can walk to so many key areas, like the New York Public Library and Bryant Park.
The room is beautiful. Nice bathroom and shower. Super clean.
The staff is kind and accomodating. Cool decor throughout.

“I looked into Manhattan because it was too expensive, but although the room is in a corner on the first floor, there is noise when opening and closing the door, it is easy to move around the path, it is in a relatively safe location, and the bed is large and the room is spacious. The water pressure in the bathroom is so great that it is difficult to use the bathroom. great
The staff are also friendly.
Breakfast includes yogurt, muffins, donuts, croissants, and other breads, as well as apples, bananas, coffee, and orange juice. There are two tables inside and several terrace-type tables outside.”

The rooms are a decent size for a base, with a TV, small fridge and a hairdryer. Breakfast included. Was as quiet at night as could be, could hear sirens when they went off but other than that was quiet with traffic”

“I have never written a google review but this is a well deserved one. I stayed there March 12-14th (two nights) the hotel was a 5 minute walking distance to a near by subway which was so convenient for getting around, we walked to the brooklyn bridge from the hotel about 15 minute walk, we also walked to the ferry for the statue of liberty about 18 minutes from the hotel, the famous Joes pizza which was amazing was about about 5 minute walk. The staff was amazing, we got vouchers for breakfast at Felice restaurant downstairs which was delicious! the vouchers offered coffee, orange juice, french toast, eggs with bacon and potatoes etc. The staff at Felices even brought a piece of tiramisu with a candle to celebrate my partner’s birthday which was so thoughtful. The hotel was super clean. Our flight was at 9:25pm and they holded our bags for no extra cost so we could go and enjoy the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely be coming back!”

“The Bowery Hotel excels across the board without being ostentatious. The lobby is a welcoming space with several options on solo or group seating. The staff is first rate across the board - everyone. The rooms are a bit of a throwback to when things were done with care, craft and high quality. They think of a lot of the essentials you need.
The lower East Side has its own cool vibe but if you want to venture further, it is a close walk to several subway lines. One, if not, the best hotel in NYC.”

“Stayed 8 nights at the end of July 2025 and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Pod 39 is less than a 5‑minute walk to Grand Central Station, which made getting around the city effortless, and most of New York’s main attractions were within easy reach.
I booked a single‑bed room. It was small, but very well organized and functional, which was perfect for a business trip where I wasn’t spending much time in the room. The highlight was the roof garden on the 17th floor, offering a fantastic view of the New York skyline and a great spot to unwind after a busy day.
Overall, a great choice for solo travelers or business trips looking for convenience and a central base in Manhattan.”

“I stay at about 5-10 Holiday Inns a year for work, and while some are imperfect, some are forgettable, this one impressed! Friendly staff and easy check-in, a convenient location, surprisingly quiet rooms, underground parking (lucked out on one of the 15 spaces), the usual breakfast was fresh and on-time, and the workout area was in fine shape. Older hotel means a slightly smaller room, but I wasn't tripping over anything. It had a desk, a quiet heater, a refrigerator, and was well-lit. Seems to have been remodeled recently, so everything was in neat and tidy shape. If my only complaint is that it took a few days to get my receipt e-mailed...oops, forgot to get one on the way out...hey, that's an excellent stay. Keep up the great work!”
