“Love this place! Clean, tidy, and well organized. Wonderful selection of products. Whether you want some trendy Asian treats you saw online, or are looking to cook an authentic meal, you can find everything you're looking for. I recommend the microwave cups of tteokbokki, the spicy and sweet one is delicious!”
“The best(?) grocery store in St. John's, albeit a little more expensive than the bigger chains, feels less cramped and more welcoming than its competitors, and the staff here are always super friendly and helpful. It's out of the way for me to get there, being on the other side of town, but always worth it, when I do make the trip.”
“Great tasting foods, not a lot of fuss to prepare, fair pricing. Some of my favourite items are the Asian Party Pack, the lemon blueberry mini bundt cakes with lemon cream cheese icing ( in it's own separate packet), the individual apple crumbles ❤️”

“Pennywell Pizza is AMAZING!! Best slice on the go - the sauce is slightly sweet but not overwhelming, and the ratio of cheese to pepperoni/bacon is superb.They also do a deadly custom pizza if you're feeding a crowd!Highly recommend!”
“Good place if you want Indian or Bangladeshi food. the butter chicken and the chicken biryani are awesome.
For the chicken biryani, the portion is really worth it for what it cost. I can't eat spicy and I can request for it to be made not spicy. good for students' tight budget. recommended??”

“Just a tiny little place, but it actually has a great selection of ethnic food products that you just won't find inside a major grocery chain. Granted the products are a little more expensive than groceries in a national chain, but this is only because the products directly imported from their country of origin in small quantities. If you are a experimental cook, don't belong to a minority group, and wondering you can purchase some of those ingredients you've never seen before, it's probably here. I just purchased grape vine leafs myself as I am inspired with authentic Mediterranean cooking lately. Check this place out and support local import vendors.”

“Staff are kind, though the selection of food items can be mournful and prices higher than elsewhere on the island. In any case, there are fresh vegetables and fruits, frozen items, milk products (all yoghurts here are sweetened, btw) and household necessities.The adjacent liquor shop has 2 local-ish products ! A beer from Nova Scotia (Spindrift) and a blueberry wine.”

“I stopped by here to pickup some breakfast, dinner and snack options. They had some nice organic seedless raspberry jam, loaf of bread, salsa, tortilla chips, garlic & herb pork chops, Salmon stuffed with shrimp/cream cheese/spinach, salads (Caesar & Garden) and the best Potato Twice Baked dish. It had creamy mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, chives and went perfectly with the meat.
The prices were surprisingly reasonable as I thought they would be much higher being on an island. This location is also very close to downtown St John’s and was less than a 10 minute walk from our place.
If you have a place with a kitchen or just want an already prepared meal they have many great options and their prices are fair!”

“Sobeys is fantastic! It’s our go-to supermarket with a great selection of fresh produce, quality meats, and pantry staples. We’re especially happy they offer some halal options, which makes shopping even better for our family. The store is always clean and well-organized, and the staff are friendly and helpful. “Been shopping here for a year. No problems. Go to the cooked food people for water otherwise you'll have to pay or go thirsty. Who keeps changing the store hours on Google? Feb2023 it was changed to closing at 8pm again when they close at 10 and always have.”

“Lots of gluten-free options, including all varieties of Chex and other GF cereals, GF cookies, bread and my favourite President's Choice gluten free hotdog buns. Not the biggest GF section I've ever seen but definitely will meet most of your needs if you have celiac or don't eat gluten for any other reason. ??”
