“This place is so cool. The clientele were various flavors of punk and for good reason. There's funk, patches, weird sht, and a smiling face behind the counter. In the center of the hideaway shop is a mesmerizing display of fancy cups that cost a lot of money for being just steps away from pretty skeletal bones and jiggly wiggly glow pens. It was hard to pull myself away from them because even though the cups started at $50 a pop, they came in sets and for some odd reason I didn't want to break the band (of cups) up. My weird emotional connection ultimately had me leaving with a pretty notebook, a jiggly wiggly pen, and a hat, because a woman can never have too many hats.”

“Great little store that features unique gifts and local items. There was something there for everyone with variety of small trinkets to local sweatshirts. I grabbed a beaded bracelet and some ceramic animals. Also, the cashier was very friendly and super personable with each customer. Love him!!”

“Was visiting from North Florida for few days, (stayed in Marshall, N.C.), and my significant other and I wanted to get some souvenirs for our trip up to North Carolina. Looked up few places locally and came across Moonlight Makers. It sounded interesting and wanted to check it out. It was somewhat difficult to find, but easy to walk to from parking garage across the street... Once arriving, it was a very nice store or establishment, and had many items locally made, and what seemed like nice variety or selection of goods or items to choose from. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was wonderful! We browsed for little bit, and our cashier was very nice also. Hope to visit Asheville again soon, and thank you all for a great experience!”

“Stopped in here for a tour as part of a road scholar Retreat week at Montreat North Carolina recently. Absolutely fabulous! So many beautiful crafts by true artisans. I purchased a few beautiful things here that will be functional and last for years to come. Very impressed and glad this is here. “Sanctuary of Stuff is a unique gift shop in Woodfin (north of Asheville). There's a fun vibe, with beautiful pottery, glass, jewelry, clothing, homewares and baby things made by artists, many of them local. Perfect place to find something for that hard-to-buy-for person. The owner was very friendly. We'll definitely be back!”

“The Carriage House Shop is the largest retail store on the Biltmore Estate, located within the historic stable buildings adjacent to Biltmore House. Originally designed to house George Vanderbilt’s driving horses and carriages, the 12,000-square-foot complex now serves as a central hub for shopping and dining.
The shop offers:
●frequently offers complimentary tastings of wines, wassail spice blends, and gourmet dips.
●large selection of Biltmore Winery wines, local honey, preserves, and specialty snacks
●Biltmore-branded clothing, Loungefly bags, magnets, and postcards.
I especially found the china wonderful. This teapot is part of the Vanderbilt Service collection from the Biltmore Estate. The design is an adaptation of historic china on display in the Oak Sitting Room at the Biltmore House.”

“Looking for an ornament and I didn't need the smart reply from the shop worker. Yes, I get the 2025 Biltmore ornaments are sold out and yes I see you're selling to 2026 ones but that is mot want I want. Why would I buy a 2026 ornament in December of 2025. She replied well, because no one wants to buy a 2025 in January and they (meaning the sales dept) took the sells from 2024 and decided they shouldn't make as many. That makes absolutely no dang sense, because why would a company take sales from a year that a natural disaster happened and project for the next year. That's just bad business. Pissed that we traveled all this way for our anniversary just to see a 2026 Biltmore ornaments for sale. ?♀️?♀️?♀️ Good thing, I am a handy lady and i will make my own special Biltmore anniversary ornament. Biltmore sales, do better.”
“Himalayas Import is always my first stop when heading up to, or passing by Asheville.
They have such interesting items to be bought. Its also cool to see that the items are shipped from Nepal. The woman behind the counter was super helpful and kind. If I had any questions she would answer them diligently.
I highly reccomend going to this store whenever you get the chance. Absolutely amazing experience every time! 🙌”

“A gorgeous store. I immediately fell in love with one of the purses as soon as I walked in the door. A beautiful green Italian leather. I also purchased a cute little necklace. I was short on time this trip so I was only able to grab the purse and necklace. Next time I'm in Asheville I'll definitely be stopping in again.
The owner is so sweet and kind. I immediately felt welcomed. Very lovely, just like her shop. Highly recommend stopping in and checking them out. Everything from Italian leather, beautiful jewelry, Italian stationary, divine candles and so much more. Everything looked high quality. No cheap junk in this shop”
