Jacksons Western Store is a well-established business with a rich history dating back to 1938 when it was originally opened as Jackson Trading Co. Located in a quiet brick building near the train tracks, it initially sold dry goods and clothing. Over the years, it expanded with the help of the founder's sons, adding feed & seed, a leather repair shop, harness making, and a wide selection of western clothing, becoming a prominent part of the community. Today, it is known as the go-to place in Western North Carolina for all western gear, including saddles, boots, hats, belts, and riding equipment. The store offers a great selection, reasonably priced, and staffed with knowledgeable employees. Customers praise the friendly service and the welcoming atmosphere, often highlighting the leather shop where skilled craftsmen craft leather handles, keychains, and answer questions for new leather crafters. Jacksons Western Store is appreciated for its wide variety of products, style updates, and willingness to help customers find what they need or recommend other stores if necessary. It remains a beloved local business with a strong community connection.

I have bought multiple cowboy hats and my 9 year old son loves going to look at western wear at Jackson’s. I’ve always had outstanding experiences and never encountered nothing but cordial and helpful staff.

They're helpful. But could use some ac in the dressing room. I got fat after my wife had our daughter and I came out of there sweating looking like I just jumped in the river. I got fat but they had what I wanted
