“Decided to take a drive out to the country today and ended up in elkin. I saw this market and had to stop by because it looked very intriguing. I'm very glad that I did because it was amazing. The store has a variety of vegetables, fruit, honey, and jams. The owner was a very nice gentleman. I can't wait to try out these new jams that I have never heard of before. I will definitely drive out here again just to go to this market. The prices were great and reasonable.”
“The workers are very helpful and nice they ring your items up fast, the prices of the items they sell I feel could be a little cheaper over all good place to shop!”

“Great owners Mike and his dauggter Mindy are great people they operate and run a friendly community store. Its a Country style feel thats what we love to see when we live in our rural area.”

“I was walking and needed a rest,..anyways stopped and set in front of this little store and this lady from the window on. The little kitchen side personal insisted on buying me a meal. This lady went to her car and handed me cash from her own pocket and told me to buy me a meal. This is genuinely an amazing establishment and the owners / employees are beyond courteous. Love this place. 5+ starts for me.!!)!”
“Food was great, loved my chimichanga. Big food portions at a great price. Unfortunately no WiFi, minor issue really and seems harsh to take a star off for that ?”
“So far every employee that I've dealt with has been tactful. None were tripping over themselves to try to be the most helpful or efficient either. But for what DG Hays their employees is absurd. Even if you are a manager., Your pay is insulting. Taking that into consideration I would have to say overall surprisingly I would give it a little better-than-average”

“Would give more, but the bathroom was filthy. The restroom was covered in pubic hair after an employee walked out. While the rest of the staff were relatively friendly afterwards, that same employee who walked out of the restroom proceeded to insult a customers autistic child. I was shocked and appaled by this employees behavior and will not come back.”

“Great Customer Service & the store is always clean. They always have a good selection and although they do run out of things from time to time, it's not habitual by any means. I'm not in this area often but if I am, I don't hesitate to stop here and pick up anything I might need.”
“Stopped here because the entrance to the highway was closed. The wonderful lady working on closing the store for the evening was so kind. Her small gesture of kindness was appreciated and helped me find the best way back on the highway.”

“Clean store! However, too many customers all the time! Ya have to zigzag around everyone! The customers, stockers constantly. It's tuff sometimes! Great people working there, very nice & helpful! Just too many people for only, one store. Don't park on the right side of the building. People want to pull up at the stores side. Sometimes it gets so cramped that you can't pull out from them because there is no parking there to begin with! When there's tiny parking places are full and cramped, you can't turn your wheel will left or right to get out! Then you're going to back into the people that park next to the building! It's incredibly frustrating!”
“The store is back to where it once was before. Very clean and organized. The lady working there was very nice and helpful. They have oysters there again!! If you have not been in awhile because of the previous people who ran it go back. You will be very happy with this place now.”
“Here I am reviewing a Walmart again for some reason. Well I took a few photos while walking around grabbing the sandals and bug spray I needed. So here you go. I dont have anything specific to say about this Walmart. It wasn’t dirty. They had a subway in here too. Post.”
“I always have a pleasant experience at this location! Yes, there isn’t usually enough staff to accommodate peak times but that’s not the fault of the employees themselves. DG is known for running on a skeleton crew in order to not pay anymore money than they see necessary. I think people need to remind themselves of that and take their complaints to the higher-ups rather than the employee(s) that are working without breaks (just my two pennies).
I did want to add that Dollar General DOES NOT OFFER WESTERN UNION SERVICES ANYMORE. It still shows up on Google as being a Western Union site but, alas, that is no longer the case.
I also called the Hamptonville location and they don’t have Western Union, either. I’m going to assume that this rings true for ALL Dollar General stores now.”
