Tootsie's Pet Grooming and Dog Training
1242 Chapel Hill Rd, BurlingtonToday was my Max’s first day going to Tootsie’s. I HIGHLY recommend them. He is a Malshi and I’ve never liked how anyone has cut his hair. The young girl there (forgot to get her name) did his hair, nails, cleaned ears, and anal glands. I was visiting the area and they got me in quickly. I’m in this area a lot and I will return again and again! Max came out happy and handsome and smelled wonderful! I’m a happy customer!! ???

Spay & Neuter Clinic
1919 S Church St, BurlingtonEverything went smoothly, but when I picked up my cat they informed me that he had peed in the carrier. I was instructed to leave him in the carrier after bringing him home. Obviously I don’t expect them to clean his carrier (it’s fabric). But they didn’t rinse him off or anything. Just left him sitting in his own urine. They did put a pee pad or bag under the carrier to protect my car seats. When I brought him home after he cried all the way home I had to ignore instruction and remove him from the carrier early to get him cleaned up. His surgery site healed fine and quickly but I drove an hour to pick him up and it makes me sad to think he was covered in urine for that long (he’s a very clean boy and grooms often). Overall it was quick and much cheaper than the alternatives, but I didn’t appreciate the lack of care for my baby.

All Paws Pet Emergency Hospital
3317 S Church St, BurlingtonI can't thank the staff enough for their compassion and expertise. My husband and I had to bring in our dog, Marco, after hours, and the doctor was truly amazing in her ability to explain what our next steps should be. After we lost our pup to heart disease the next day, the team at All Paws sent a lovely handwritten card. It truly means the world to know he was in such good hands before he passed, and that we were able to do additional tests at the hospital they referred us to.

The Daily Grind - Coffee Shop
3171 Garden Rd, BurlingtonEdited to update that my husband and I have since become regulars here because we love it so much. The atmosphere, the staff, and of course the drinks, are absolutely incredible and worth a visit! My husband lovessss their creme brulee frappe so much that he basically has given up all other coffee. I love their seasonal specials and everything I've tried has been amazing. Their bagels and other pastries are locally sourced and delicious! They're highly involved in the community and regularly host fundraisers and community events. If you're going to get coffee/tea in the Burlington area, please consider the Daily Grind! They're a gem!
Original review: I've been here about a dozen times since moving here 3 months ago. It's one of my favorite coffee shops! They are always so welcoming and cheerful, the lattes are creative and delicious, and the decor is so cute! The food I've tried so far was amazing! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

The Old Sharkey's Grill
203 S Anthony St, BurlingtonListen, and I don't normally do reviews but I read them. Found this hidden gem and when I say EVERYTHING was great!! The customer service was by far the best, I normally have to send some parts of my food back because I am a food critic. Nothing to send back but an empty plate, definitely coming back and my waitress (s) Dawn and Brittany the best!!! professional at it's best, some of these big food chains need Dawn and Brittany to train their staff and I promise you the world would be a better place.

Mykonos Grill
2253 S Church St, BurlingtonLongtime fan of this amazing place. We only go for lunch so can't say anything about the dinner service with wait staff. But at lunch, it's casual order at the counter style, and they bring everything to the table. And what they bring to the table is without fail just wicked delicious. Never had a bite that was less than awesome. and all for such a decent price that includes a drink of your choice. And then the staff, just so delightful, kind, caring, funny, honestly it makes the whole experience. And what on earth do they do to the grilled chicken kabobs that makes the chicken so utterly tender and deeply flavorful???? The Greek hamburger or burger on pita are both special. the fried zucchini is perfection. the french fries are exemplary. the spankopita and falafel are excellent. as i said, not a bad bite to be had. And the desserts, though a bit pricey, are stunning. kudos to the owners and management who are clearly respecting and caring for the whole staff, because the team effort at excellence just shines. Cannot recommend enough.

Burlington Animal Services
221 Stone Quarry Rd, Burlingtonso it’s springtime and it means there’s cats everywhere. I have been volunteering for a program called mighty mousers to help with the feral and stray cat problem in the city of burlington. This veterinarian and all of the employees at this location are so empathic and genuinely care about animals and it’s something that I don’t see often as I lived in Durham, Hillsboro, and raleigh. and this is the only city that really helps when I bring animals in and doesn’t make me go on a “waiting list” or go through hoops and jumps to bring animals in that need to be fixed or need to be euthanized or that are in pain. if your in burlington and you see a lot of stray cats or feral cats, please feel free to join the program of mighty mousers and help us to stop the suffering of cats on the streets. they make it so easy you can give a cat rabies vaccination and get them fixed so that they don’t keep repopulating and it’s only $10 a cat. during spring season, some cats can have between five and seven kittens, and then they get pregnant again. if you do the math, even getting one cat fixed, can save hundreds of cats because of how fast these cats reproduce. I just want to say thank you to this facility for inspiring me to help and making it to where it’s easy enough to not have an excuse to not help. I will be coming through there as it is kitty season and we have already found some pregnant cats and kittens.
