“We were blessed to be invited to a wedding that was held at the beautiful location. The moment you arrive at the property, you know you are in a special place! There are beautiful outdoor spaces abounding with rustic gazebos, fire pits, lavender groves and dense trees surrounding the main attraction which is the " barn ". We were fortunate to have spectacular weather and the ceremony was held outside in front of the amazing fireplace with wooded backdrop. The interior of the barn has plenty of space for bar set up, tables, and a generous dance floor. The wedding we attended was probably 100 people which allowed for lots of space. There were some guests seated on the second floor looking down but they didn't seem to mind. They had a great view of the bride and groom and dance floor.The outside space was utilized as a s'mores station, relaxation area and a place to get away from the music if needed. We had a wonderful time and loved everything about the wedding and the venue.”

“We were so fortunate to have our wedding at the Barn at Valhalla. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue with options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies. The biggest bonus for us was that we were able to rent the venue for the entire weekend and our bridal party could stay on site with us- the rental includes the barn with a loft that has 4 bedrooms and the house which includes a bridal suite, a guest room, and a man cave/bunk room equipped with everything the groomsmen could want (pool table, poker table, darts, cornhole, etc.). I also highly recommend the day of coordination services because Marguerite was wonderful to work with and made our wedding day stress free! She took care of everything and made sure the day ran so smoothly that I had absolutely nothing to worry about. She was also very responsive to emails and answered any questions we could think of leading up to the big day. I would absolutely recommend this venue to any couple looking to get married in a picturesque location!”

“A beautiful and romantic spot; really perfect for a wedding. Tony recently hosted our large group and made all of us feel so comfortable and welcome. He was warm, gracious, and personable. The house is gorgeous and steeped in fascinating history; everything is tastefully decorated, lots of cozy atmosphere. Old Lystra Inn isn't far from the busy downtown parts of Chapel Hill, but feels very much like a peaceful "world apart". Memorable...and highly recommended.”

“White table cloth dining, excellent service, relaxed, elegant atmosphere. Gotta be a member, but it is worth it. Old Well lemonade, alumni ribeye, and a wedge salad and you would be hard pressed to find a better meal. Skip the salmon, it's not their best, but everything else is fantastic. Reasonable prices for this class of venue.”

“The Bento box was a fun appetizer and pairing the salt and pepper shrimp was a great move! Good tastes, and fun to eat with my partner! The pork belly was complimented by yummy crisp cabbage and carrots that were full of flavor. The peashoot dumplings didn't live up to the hype, kind of tasteless and a one dimension flavor note....even the pea sauce was salty and missing a lift... maybe a touch of acidity needed! We have been waiting to come here for 6 years and it was a fun menu! Singha beer chased everything down well and the cocktail, the Porchlight, were great complements to the meal. We will come back!”

“Five star fun at Still Life! What a great venue! We hosted a group and booked a table with table service on a Saturday night. Mark was great to work with and made sure that our guests were well taken care of and that everything went smoothly on the night. The servers were great too. The club is fantastic - plenty of really great spaces, each with its own vibe. Our group had an awesome time and totally felt like VIPs! Would definitely do it again!”

“Great location to hospital and campus. Fire department beside it can be an issue but just for a minute. Parking is biggest issue. We were lucky and got up front but others were not. Our only problem was showhead in our room was very painful. Couldn’t adjust it and had to put towel over it and just wash under that flow. Brothers room was fine. I messaged for them to change it cause it is not a please shower.Nearby activities: Hospital and campus very close.”
