“My husband and I participated in the candle making workshop with lavender lunch that I won from a raffle. I didn't realize what a great prize that was until arriving. The venue is beautifully and thoughtfully crafted repurposing a beautiful barn structure from Ohio and Karen made everyone feel welcome. I have food restrictions so was unable to partake in the delicious looking lunch but my husband enjoyed everything and was able to even get seconds. Having won the event as a raffle I did not expect any accommodation for my allergies, but Karen offered a credit for me to enjoy something from her boutique. The space was impeccably cared for and serene, I could've spent all afternoon there. It made me want to get married again to have my own event there!”

“I recently had my wedding at the Barn at Valhalla and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We loved the package that allowed us to have the venue from 8 am the day before to 12 pm the day after. We held a preparty the next before and guests loved being able to spend the night at the many on-site accommodations.
We used the Barn’s day of coordination and rentals and everything flowed super smooth.

“My brother was getting married in Chapel Hill and we were looking for a space to host a welcome party the night before the wedding. There are not many event spaces that can hold 175 people in Chapel Hill and after an exhaustive time calling different restaurants, we found The Pitch (we didn’t want to host the event in a hotel). Laura and her team were great. They worked with us every step of the way preparing for the evening. It was a huge success. We recommend The Pitch to anyone looking to host an event in Chapel Hill!”

Let’s just say, compared to other parts of UNC, this is really luxurious though it might be a bit dated. If anything, this reminds me of Baiyoke Sky Hotel in terms of decor. Yep, even managed to see UNC Acapella people (Achordants and Psalm 100 especially, Clef Hangers left early but I put them under this classification for certain reasons) try and finish the catering. Hats off to them!
While I don’t remember the songs, at least I do know that they did get decent Christmas music to ‘kick off the holiday season.’
Refreshements are quite similar to the dining halls (I.e. OK, decent quality), but could have included eggnog. Then again, this is Carolina Alumni, NOT the Sheraton/Hilton/Whatever high class hotel you think of.”

“Close enough to UNC Chapel Hill. There should be free parking at this hotel but they charge a fee. Rooms are tidy. The lobby is clean and plenty of space to get work done.”

The night of our event everything ran smoothly, the caterers had plenty of space for set up and the space was set up beautifully by their talented staff.
