“Love this place! I'm a longtime Durham resident and yet I'd never been in here until this past weekend. I was in a bit of a hurry and looking for a birthday-related book for a child. I didn't get her name, but a staff member with curly gray hair was SO kind and helpful in my search! She went all over the store looking for birthday related items and came back with the one I ended up purchasing (side note: the child LOVED it!).
I am an occupational therapist with a background in pediatrics and the types of toys in this store are all ones that are excellent for cognitive, fine/gross motor, and social-emotional development! There is nary a screen-based toy in sight and all of the books, toys, and items here appear to be carefully selected to foster creative play for kids of all ages.
They also have very cute (if a bit pricy) clothing from Magnetic Me in sizes up to 5T. All told, this is an amazing local gem that you'd be remiss not to visit!”

“This B&N is very neat and organized. It's easy to find someone to help and it seems there are people actively seeking out anyone who needs assistance. The people working the registers are quick and thorough and very kind. I generally go in for books but last time I was looking for hand lettering books and the woman I spoke to thought for .2 seconds and led me right to the section. She pulled out a couple that were exactly what I was looking for and I found a couple more after that. I love that when I get a book and go back for the rest of the series...they have them. So often places carry the first book then you have to order the next in the series. Also the café has DELICIOUS coffee. I'm not a coffee lover so when I get it I like it just so....and they do it exactly the way I like it. I tried the...sugar cooke? Latte? Last time...I thought it was going to be too sweet (and I like sweet) but it was perfection.”

“Robert Medred wrote a review about a book, of which he didn’t even give the full title of, making it seems as if the book was misleading while also being very rude (calling people mentally challenged online where they can search up your name and find out where you work isn’t very bright).
“Immeasurable Weather” isn’t simply “Immeasurable Weather”, but is, in fact, “ Immeasurable Weather: Meteorological Data and Settler Colonialism from 1820 to Hurricane Sandy.”
Keywords being “settler colonialism” which doesn’t make this a simple “meteorology” book; subtitles are very important. One google search, bro. And hell, it says it on the cover of the damn book. From the get-go, you as a reader are told this is not just about weather…”

From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming, patient, and genuinely eager to help. She goes above and beyond to make sure I found exactly what I needed, answering questions without rushing me and making the whole process completely stress-free, even over the phone!
It’s refreshing to see customer service that actually feels personal—especially on a busy college campus. Brittany is knowledgeable about textbooks, campus gear, and policies, and she handles everything with consummate professionalism and such a wonderful attitude. You can tell she truly cares about students and alumni and wants to make things easier, not harder.
Shoutout to “Bookstore Brittany” for setting the bar exceptionally high. Experiences like this make life so much better. “We visited several used and new locally owned bookstores in the area, and this was by far my favorite one!! It feel so inviting and relaxing! They staff are friendly, helpful, and kind! Everything is clean and well organized! There are lots of helpful little cards on books that give you an idea of what it's about, more than just the cookie cutter description on the back of the book. There are a few areas to lounge around. Don't miss the upstairs space! The stairs are just to the left as you go in. Simply lovely store!”
