“I was one of the owners very first customers many years ago along with my cousin. Back when it was mainly him and I believe his wife and brother cranking out long hours hoping to get his business off the ground. For the record this has been going on around 15 years ago I’d estimate maybe longer.We would stop by after school everyday when we attended GR Whitfield nearby as well as the fact our grandma who we’d stay with until our parents came to get us on school days, lived right near there. The reason for the background is I’ve seen this place grow up and down over the years. I even remember when they tried out a little pool hall etc.George has finally got it right (not that it was ever wrong) and it is the best local Mexican store imo. And truly embodies the culture of how Mexican grocery stores work, even if it is in a small town versus a corner in a large city.Unless I need something they don’t carry and I have go to Greenville (almost never happens) I get everything from my tamales to my conchas to the best tres leches cake you’ll ever eat right in store. Everything they do whether homemade foods, imported/traditional goods, or just the warm environment they make sure to give everyone shows they love their business.If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood or passing through Grimesland, or at the new location in Washington, NC about 10-15min away (the Washington store has a restaurant inside instead of the taco truck outside) please do yourself a favor and stop for a tasty treat. They are family run and the owner is honestly a great guy!Best food, best service, and a large variety of shopping wares including clothing, jewelry, phone cards, etc. On top of the food and grocer items.”
“I don't do all my shopping at Aldi's but now that I found it I'll do a lot more shopping there. It is a whole lot cleaner than I thought it would be. Very nice place to shop”

“Store was great with friendly staff throughout until i got to check out. Cora suggested i go to swlf check out. I said no thank you and she never spoke to me again. She kept her hand or a bag in front of laser thing so belt wouldnt move and couldnt load my groceries. I get thats how your store is set up with self service being for big carts but im disabled and cannot do all that myself. She continued my order slamming my groceries into bags. It was uncalled for and Unfortunate.”

“I am retired RN. Disabled Veteran. We have used Instacart for the past YEARS! Instacart services declined terribly. We started using Food Lion To Go Service. What a change. Thoughtful shopping and Team Members that focus on CUSTOMER SERVICE! Today the store manager loaded my order in my truck. Substitutions are appropriate. Thank you for all that each Team Member does! Y’all are amazing!”

“Why pay more when you can pay less? I mainly shop here for household essentials like laundry detergent, fabric softener, and cleaning supplies. I use the coupons on DG app to save money. Today, I bought 2 Snuggle fabric softener 46 loads each for $4(2 for$8 minus $4 coupon). I'm happy. I saved bucks on everything I bought at DG today. It's a clean store. Easy to find what you are looking for. I don't shop here often, but when I do I'm a satisfied customer.”
“I recommend dollar general EXCEPT FOR THE ONE IN WASHINGTON ON 264 WEST next to the old foodlion store that closed a while ago except for 1 person that work there. Jiovoni is the ONLY decent person that works there and when I say the only decent person I mean the ONLY decent person. He should be made manager. He should be paid for his disposition. I truly despise this store except for that one man that is truly the only person that acts like he cares. I live within 2 minutes of this store and shop there regularly but one of my highlights is I’m moving and can shop at a different store. I’ve been planning on complaining about this store for years and have been to lazy to do so but today is the day”
