“Rock Rash Performance (RRP) is the best! Back in April 2025, I researched experienced 4x4 fabricator/installers (over 10 of them) in the NC area to turn my stock 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium (with KDSS) into a competent beach vehicle. I chose RRP because they specialize/are experienced in Toyota and Lexus Overlanding Outfitting and are experienced fabricators and welders.
Ian promptly replied to my online inquiry through the website, shared his experiences, provided a detailed quote on parts and labor and most of all instilled confidence in RRP's ability to deliver. Price for parts and labor costs were very competitive.
Yesterday (June 3, 2025), I successfully had a Dobinson IRS suspension upgrade installed; 2.5 inch lift in front, 1.0 inch in back (keeping my KDSS active), installed an RCI (Pike) winch bumper with a Warn EVO 10S winch and RCI (steel) Engine Protection Skid Plate. The install and alignment went flawlessly and was done in the same day.
Deciding to go with Ian and Chris at Rock Rash Performance was the best decision I made regarding my 4Runner upgrade. Note: I drove 3 hours each way (~320 miles round trip) because of their experience. These gentlemen are Veterans (go VETS!), execute quality work with skilled craftsmanship and flawless communication.

“best shop i have ever went to, they go above and beyond the call of duty. If i purchased anything from them and it didn't workout or had an issue it was not problems getting the item replaced free of charge. They where the only shop to do what I asked how I asked when i asked without all the BS. I gladly pay there 85$/hour fee bc I know what I'm getting when i receive my car back and if I'm not happy they will fix it on the spot. All in all this is the only shop I will use for restoration due to the fact i have been screwed by so many other shops in the area.Services: Transmission”
“Shout out to the fellow southern sweetheart Renee at the front desk! ❤ She’s an absolute delight, and a refreshing reminder of the roots that were here before the hostile swarm that’s taking over Pittsboro. Although the other party’s insurance did not cooperate at first, CC was more than understanding of the situation and patient with my rescheduling multiple times. They repaired my truck in less than a week once we finally got the ball rolling, and the workmanship and care of the repairs were noticeably better than a different shop we used for another (previous) rear end accident. John was extremely helpful reaching out to the mute insurance company, and remembered the exact repairs for a final walk through. They were also kind enough to clean our weather tech floor mats, as well as the exterior. More than anything, my type A “attention-to-detail” husband was over the moon happy. Lifetime warranty on repairs. In the best way possible, I hope we don’t have to visit again… but will definitely return in the future if we need auto repair! 10/10”
