“My 1999 Dodge 3500 with a Cummins diesel engine is my work truck. I'm a carpenter, and when this truck is down, I have no income. It's by far one of my most prized possessions. I haul lumber, gravel, rock, concrete, tools, and supplies every day, so I depend on it.
Over the years, I've had a hard time finding a truly knowledgeable and honest diesel mechanic. Last week, the truck started making a strange whizzing noise, and I feared the worst—I thought the transmission or power steering pump was failing.
Several contractors had recommended Juan over the years, so I decided to stop by. As soon as I walked in, Juan greeted me and immediately asked if it had a Cummins engine. His face lit up! He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and I could tell right away he genuinely cared about his customers.
Juan understood that I rely on my truck for my livelihood, so he got it diagnosed and repaired quickly. Best of all, I didn't need a new transmission like I had feared, which was a huge relief.
When I picked up my truck, Juan took the time to explain everything in detail, answered all my questions, and even cleaned the engine. That level of care and professionalism is hard to find these days.

“Great service and very nice!! I had a mishap traveling from Richmond to chapel hill Thursday afternoon. A FedEx truck had lost several large sections of tire tread on 85 south that I could not avoid. I ran over the tire tread which damaged my car's undercarriage tray. When I got to my sister's in chapel hill I called the closest auto shop I could find. The gentleman that answered listened to my mishap and stated he would certainly help me out. I drove over and of course I need to have the tray replaced however the 2 gentlemen were able to secure the tray until I got back to Richmond. I will definitely keep this shop in mind when I visit as well as my sister was very impressed with the friendly services. Not overpriced or did not tried to take advantage of my problem. I also want to support small businesses!Thanks for the great service.”

“These folks were great- I had a new used car and was about to leave to drive cross country pulling a trailer when my car started shaking violently. I called and they said they could get to me right away & as soon as I pulled in they took the car for a spin & were able to identify the problem. I needed four new wheels & they had to get them from somewhere else- I do wish I’d understood that it would take so long for the tires to get there, but the folks at Sturdivant’s were apologetic and true to their word got the tires on using multiple employees to get the job done quickly once the tires arrived. They didn’t try to upsell anything or make me get unnecessary repairs which I always really appreciate, particularly as a woman. Thank you all for your help & thoughtfulness & helping me get on the road so quick!”

“I was passing through the area on a cross-country trip when my truck kicked an engine light and started acting a fool. I could not drive any further without immediate attention so I limped the truck into the shop. Walker was working behind the desk and quickly ran the codes and diagnosed the problem. The part was there in less than 10 minutes. Lee worked his magic and the truck was running again. I pulled in with about 1 hour left before closing. Other shops might have pushed this work off until the next day, but not these folks. They had it done and I was back on the road posthaste!

“I love that they are a family-run business (Max Sr., Max Jr., and his awesome wife Julie. This is where I got my car and where I have work done on it, they are absolutely so kind and trustworthy, you know that you are in good hands. They really know their stuff. They have a comfortable waiting area, offer coffee and cold water (and on my last visit Gatorade). Very understanding and will explain things to you which is good if you're like me and don't know much about cars. They do inspections too!”

I didn’t have an appointment but they assured me they could get my inspection done if I was able to leave my car (which worked great for me anyway). Once that was compete, Zander advised of a hazardous situation with my brakes, clearly explained what needed to be done, and confirmed the work could be completed by my requested pick up time.
