“Wow, now that's a bait and tackle store! I visited Betty's Outdoors trying to find certain items for my own fishing adventures. It's worth the drive to Walnut Cove from anywhere to finds over a hundred or so flavors for carp and catfish bait of local and regional origin. You can find current, popular and name brand products for fresh and saltwater fishing expeditions. By the way, there are several carp ponds nearby so it's conveniently located to get some action. To quote Arnold, "I"ll be back".”

“I went to the deli today, May 22nd, at 5:00PM. James was the only one at the deli and was had to juggle a phone call with a long order and myself, this guy was awesome! He explained to me that it would be a bit of a wait as he was processing that order but asked me what I needed and that he would get to it when he was could. I went on with my shopping and James actually found me in one of the aisles and hand delivered my order to me. He remembered what I asked for and the correct slice size. I can't say enough good about James. I really appreciated the customer service that he provided, he's the best. Thanks Food Lion for hiring such great talent.”
“I love the store. It's always clean and plenty of room to maneuver. The aisles are not stacked high full of stuff that you can't get by with your cart. Great produce and meat departments.”
“Foodlion is always clean. We get in and out most days.. Some cashiers could be friendlier and speak up.. Get some that barely say hi, or thank you.. But we will find a good one and wait for that one even if it does take longer.. & No, self checkouts for us if we can avoid it.. Foodlion is our shop..”

“I have shopped here several times in the past. It is a great store, well run, and very clean. No roll-tainers full of clutter in sight. Floor is also spotless. Staff interactions were good and nice. Your typical hi hellos and how are yous.

“Whicker's is a wonderful family owned store. They have regular merchandise but there is also fresh homegrown produce and if you're lucky Pat has made homemade ham biscuits. Be early because they go quickly. Even though it's much like any other convenience store the smiles and warm greetings bring to mind better days. I absolutely love this place and I hope the store and the people continue to endure the lure of a city attitude.”

I couldn’t find anything I was looking for, and she was very patient and kind.She essentially helped me find everything, you don’t find that much anymore.There are still carts blocking the isles, which is why I didn’t select 5 stars but she is amazing!!!”

“This is a solid store. My first visit was this evening and it is your smaller store, the oldest standalone ones you find. With the space they have, it was well-layed out, nicely stocked, fairly clean and nice people. It has clutter like almost every one of these stores does, but it isn't nearly as bad as it could be.
I wish it were torn down and rebuilt so they could fit all items they need. If not, it is a good store.”

“You need to fire Bobbie(the 60+ year old lady) all she does is yell, and God forbid you try bringing a movie back that didn't have the DVD inside of it. Yelled at my husband saying there's nothing she could do unless he looked through all the movies to find that exact movie. Literally only yelling that at him, all the other customers in the store could hear her yelling, they were all shaking their heads and even seen a nice man worker was saying that wasnt right for her to do that. After me and him looked through the one big spot of movies we couldn't find it. So he had to go tell the woman and a different NICE worker woman helped us try to find it, but we couldn't so she told us to just get another movie with the same price. She also found a whole lot of movies that didn't have the DVD in it. She also yelled at an elderly woman for buying a carton of cigarettes WHICH the Bobbie woman scanned 10 packs of cigarettes which is more expensive than the carton, that woman also got a can of beans but she forgot them. And Bobbie said "well if these beans were important they'd come and get them." My mother took the bag out to the elderly woman and she said thank you this was my mother's day food. Fire Bobbie or you're going to lose a lot of customers. All the other workers are completely wonderful, but this woman is making people lose money and embarrassing them.”

“I have been a regular customer of the Dollar General of Pine Hall since discovering it last year. Compared to the other DGs near me this one is always very clean and has everything I need. Every employee that works here has always been very friendly. Also love how close it is to my house and that they stay open until 10pm which makes it so convenient. My only complaint is that like Helena King said in the previous review before me on here, they really should have ice in stock which hopefully they will get eventually. Other then that I've never had a bad experience at this store and is hands down, one of the best Dollar Generals in my area. To the employees, keep up the awesome work!”
