“Took my own 4 keys to be cut. Paid $4 per key. The young girl totally mauled the keys on the machine. She kept saying she did it right. Obviously she didn't. The other lady came over and offered no correction or credit for my ruined keys. I always try to buy and use “local” but I will def be going to Lowes Buiding Supply from now on. They lost all of my future business over $16.Update: I received personal responses from the owner and the manager, Luke, at New River Building Supply. They couldn’t have been more apologetic and went above and beyond trying to make this right. They offered to reimburse me for the ruined keys and to pay for new keys. I declined the offer only because small businesses have a hard enough time realizing profits and competing with Big Corporate. I thanked them for reaching out and assured Luke that I would definitely be back to shop in my favorite hardware store.”
“Carries dewalt flex volt and milwaukee unlike lowes, also substantially cheaper than lowes, example being 8 inch dewalt plug in table saw is $400 at lowes while just $300 at New River, both stores, Boone and Beech Mountain area have very helpful friendly staff, they offer discounts if you get an account with them as well. Not to mention they are local and have better quality wood.”

“A great establishment and in my opinion it is a must-stop while at Beech Mountain. I relied on Fred’s for their fresh cooked food, snowboarding gear, groceries, and gifts! They also lent me a tool to help me out when I had a lock that broke. Great staff, delicious food with lots of options, and a lot to look at and do! The Philly cheesesteak was amazing and a great price. Always left the store feeling very satisfied and well taken care of.”

“Very convenient to local yokels, they have a large variety of drinks, (no alcohol). They have a restaurant inside, and homemade sweets, breakfast sandwiches for morning folks. Gas station is good ?”
