“I ONLY OUT FIVE STARS TO BE AT THE TOPThis has to be one of the worst camps I’ve been to, and I had only been there TWO days. When we got there we could walk around the camp, I was walking alone when there’s two girls walked pasted me looking at me saying, “Ew.” To my face! As a black girl I was shocked, because I was not expecting them to say that to me and be RASICT. One white kid was harassing this asian kid, always rocking his chair to hard almost making him fall off and following him around, and touching his shoulders and hair. People told him to stop, and every time he did it he would shrug his shoulders and walk away, which pissed me off so much. One time we were playing a game in the club room, and one of my black friends were called up there, you had to get a bat from some guy in the crowd. So she tried not to step on people and she said they PUSHED her around. She ended up crying, and having to talk to her counselor. The same night, I was walking to my cabin when I saw a huge crowd of people surrounding boys cabin. So I went over to check it out, and this black girl was cursing out this white boy and trying to punch him. I asked someone what happened, and they said, “That white kid said the n-word!” As a black girl, I don’t think another race, ESPECIALLY WHITE PEOPLE say the n-word, don’t matter if you “got the pass” or not. You have no right to say it. Period. Anyways, it was broken up by a counselor, and the guy got it trouble.I rate this camp a 0/10. The food was good, and the games were okay. Plus, I love the part when they talk about God. But if you want to go here, or want your kid to go here. You don’t want to go. Let me just say this, the white kids are going to only walk to the white kids and the people of color are only going to talk to the people of color. That’s just the way things go.”

“What a fantastic little place to stumble across while I was exploring Asheville! The cat lounge was really neat, and the shop had so much cool stuff to peruse, and the proceeds from the shop fund the cat rescue.”

“Today was my first time trying to donate platelets. Although my veins didn't cooperate, there were many people participating. Joshua was the one who took care of me. They provide warm blankets, a tv to watch, and snacks afterwards. If you are able, please make an appointment with the American Red Cross in Asheville to donate platelets. You can save a life.”

“I attended my first class at ACY today and can not say enough good things. Their mission of accessibility to all is so important and I love their model of pay what you can. On top of that, the class was perfectly challenging for all levels with fair accommodations and challenges mixed in. The studio itself had great vibes, was cleanly, and spacious. The people at the desk as well as the instructor were so friendly and welcoming as they took the time to explain how everything worked and gave each person individual attention. After taking some time away from yoga, I was a bit intimidated to be back in the studio but am grateful to be back in this space. I look forward to coming back and contributing more to this wonderful community.”

“So glad this place exists! Malcolm and Steven were super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with my new (used/rebuilt) bike and happy I was able to donate my old bike to the shop to further their cause of helping get kids out mountain biking who otherwise wouldn't be able to. Lots of bike parts available for cheap, like seats, clothing, accessories, etc. I will always check here first for any bike needs!”

“I joined the YWCA for the pool, but they offer so much more than that! I love the welcoming people and the mission-driven work. I feel so comfortable in the space that I've been able to branch out into new workout routines that I often felt too overwhelmed to try at other gyms. The group fitness offerings are great, too.”
