“I had a great experience at the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This place is a hidden gem if you enjoy browsing for unique finds while supporting a meaningful cause.
The store has a constantly changing selection of furniture, home goods, appliances, and building materials—so every visit feels like a bit of a treasure hunt. You can find everything from lightly used items to brand-new pieces at prices that are often well below retail.

What really stands out is the mission behind it. Knowing that purchases help fund affordable housing in the local community makes shopping here feel even more worthwhile.

The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful, and the store itself was well organized compared to many thrift-style shops. Whether you’re working on a home project, furnishing a space on a budget, or just enjoy browsing, it’s definitely worth a stop.

Pro tip: inventory changes frequently, so check back often—you never know what you’ll find.”

“Great place to find any antique or vintage items. Price is fair but not for me as I am a reseller. If you need something for yourself, it will be perfect, but if you are a reseller, dont bother.”

“I’m so happy to see new thrift stores in the area (especially another Nifty Thrifty). Prices are reasonable and clothes are in bins so be prepared to dig. I found some good stationary and do plan to come back again — hoping they’ll have more inventory then!”

“Store rearranged & clean but they were short on help so had to stand in line a long time ...they took the cash register away from side door & moved the big one to middle of store ... everything looks great!!!”

“My teens love shopping at this location! The prices & selection are great and the store is always super clean & organized. If you look in the side door at the incoming donations section, it’s piled up to the ceiling. I imagine that’s why they are selective about what they accept as a reviewer mentioned below, but I’ve never experienced anything close to rudeness here. The employees have always been incredibly kind and helpful, thanks y’all! We kook forward to shopping here again soon.”

“Very clean and organized store. The selection was good and the pricing was fair.

We brought home 4 paintings and a sweater for about $30. I’d say it was a good time.”

“Small selection, shirts are over $4 each, which seems a bit steep for a Goodwill.

My biggest question is, why is there no music playing?!!

Nice employees, though.”

“The store is clean and well organized and you can always find an inexpensive "treasure"
Most of the merchandise is clothing, but there are small selections of housewares, toys, books, and occasionally a piece of furniture.”
