Lock 4 is a hidden gem in the heart of Akron, offering a great outdoor space for visitors. The area features picnic tables for relaxing meals, plenty of restrooms without long lines, and beautiful public art. It is conveniently located near the Akron Civic Center and has a connecting trail, making it easy to access. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the river and partake in various outdoor activities in the area. The venue has hosted fantastic events, including concerts, although some attendees miss the original concert location at Lock 3. At night, colorful lights illuminate the lock, adding to its charm. Overall, Lock 4 is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of downtown Akron.
We visited the park on a day when there were no events taking place. It appears that the area is well maintained, and it was a great adventure to see a part of the old Erie Canal system.

Toilets: Plenty of restrooms for all to use with no lines.
Picnic area: Picnic tables in lawn area for you to use to eat.
