“To think I'd miss this place so much. I used to live here, Glouster, for four or so years. wasn't the best time but it has stayed in my heart forever. the people sucked and the weather sucked worse, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I used to work in the subway in this gas station, didn't get along with anyone, but, it was my first real job. I don't even remember how long I worked there, but it was a sidejob while I was finishing high school, and it gave me something to do and hell, even enjoy sometimes cause it gave me ample cash to get high with my roommate at the time. he was cool, better than most in the town but being a trans fruitcake go figure I'd be biased against most people in town. god, I miss walking the barely maintained sidewalks, I miss wandering the train tracks and going to the dollar store after school to get snacks galore. I miss it all, and in a different world, god I'd love to live here again. give the subway workers some slack, working in a space smaller than a dorm sucks. give the rivers some wistful glances and the old buildings some gazes, know that people used to, and probably still do have life forming experiences there, that Glouster is a town. and despite living in cities and everything inbetween, some people would kill to get it back.”

“I'm not from the Athens area so I didn't even know this place existed until last night I live in Vinton County but work in Athens County. I'd had a long weekend and mentioned to a friend that I'd really love a bottle of Cricket Legs ? but didn't really want to go to State Street. She told me this place was open and sold alcohol on Sundays. It was on my way which made it even better. It was easy to find with Google maps. I drove through.. After he laughed and pointed me in the correct direction... this gentleman was super nice, maybe the owner but I don't know. He was very polite, friendly and sells the local wines, including Shade Winery Cricket Legs.. And it was already chilled! Now that I know this place is here I'll be a repeat customer! Easy in, easy out, friendly service and convenient location!”
“Nellie was so helpful to my mom and dad, and went above and beyond helping them order some tobacco products. My mom went to many other Par Mars trying to find a worker to help order them, and Nellie was the only one willing to take the time and make it happen. She is such a sweet girl, and deserves a raise!!! We want management to know what a great asset they have for their store.”

“Quiet small town friendliness and small town prices. Quality goods,gas and food services/providers. Generally uncrowded and well stocked. Indoor ATM, bathroom and order out restaurant. Great air conditioning and plenty of ice cold beverages and fresh made coffee hourly for those on the go as well as many different energy supplements for those with long drives ahead of them. Marathon maintains a very high quality convenience store anywhere I've been to one.”
