“The only reason I'm giving this five-star rating because this is actually a clean area and the employees that work at this location they are nice. If I was able to give a zero star rating as far as public storage company is concerned I would. I rented my 10x20 storage unit in October of 2025 it's now June of 2026 I understand what promotional rates are and I understand the promotional rates only last a certain amount of time. So my promotional rate for my 10x20 was $124 what a great price. I did know that when the promotion was over that it would jump to $164 I was okay with that. And it did do that after 90 days it jumped to 164 that's great. I've now been there as of 2 days ago 8 months. 8 months my rates have now went from $124 and my new rate starting of July 1st 2026 is now 218 a month. Every 4 months they will raise your rate 75 to $100. That is not in the contract you sign. In the contract you sign it says it's a month to month contract and they can raise rates at any time. I didn't get any notification that the rates were going to go up. I'm on auto pay because that will save you money. But if you're on autopane you don't get notification of raising rates then you budget your money a certain way then you think you're paying one amount but then they you know hit your account for $70 more then that would overdraft that particular bill on a budget. So be real careful in Columbus. Public storage will raise the rates every 4 months upwards of $100 each time. Long-term renters pay more money than short-term renters. That is backwards long-term customers should save money short-term customers should be charged more. But that's not what they do if you've been there long time you're being charged 3 to 4 times the amount that someone that has been their less than a year is being charged. Because by the time you've hit your one year anniversary your rate has went up 100 to $150 more than the day you first rented. But the promotional amount for a 10x20 is still less than 164. They'll keep that price for 90 days then it jumps to a 164 to 172 they keep that price for another $120 days before it jumps then to over $220 but by that time they've got you what can you do with your stuff. Other than get rid of all of it because you can no longer afford to store it somewhere. Just another example of how big companies could care less about the little people that keep their company in business. In Columbus there is a storage company they use green signs they are signing two-year contracts with people that can prove they're coming from public storage because of the rate hikes and will sign a 2-year lease with you guaranteeing your price stays the same. Can't think of the name but they're all over the city of Columbus they are signs are green. Two years that's how long the contract is they will not raise your rate not even $1 and if you can prove that you came from public storage because they have these things posted out in their yards if you can prove you just came from public storage you get even bigger discount. I think that's hilarious good for you company with the green signs looking out for the little person that actually wants to take care of their family and be able to live in a house. Because that's the next thing we'll have to live in our public storage units soon enough. So they got to make sure that rent on public storage units are just as much as apartments right Good luck to everyone out there because nobody with any kind of power is actually looking out for us.”

“If you're looking for a great storage facility with excellent staff, this is the place to go. We recently rented a new unit here, and Bryan, the gentleman who helped us, was absolutely awesome. He went out of his was to assist us and answered all of our questions.
He even cleared the snow in front of our unit when he saw us pull up to the garage.

I recently won a storage auction for a unit at the Kinnear Road location. For those unfamiliar with the process, once you win a unit, you only have a limited amount of time to finalize the purchase and clean it out. The manager at the Kinnear Road location called me the day I won the auction and explained their office hours so I could complete the paperwork. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it that same day due to the limited hours, but I was told they would be open all day the following day, which worked perfectly for me.
Before heading over, I called the office but didn't get an answer. I assumed they were busy, so I drove there during my lunch break. When I arrived, the office was closed. I called again, left a voicemail, and returned later that afternoon, but the office was still closed. I continued calling before, during, and after my visits but never received a response.
Yesterday was the last day I had to finalize everything. After waiting for a callback that never came, I decided to stop by after work just in case. When I arrived, someone was locking up. I explained my situation and asked how I could complete the process. The employee informed me that their system was down and that I would need to visit another Public Storage location to finalize the auction.
While I wish I had known that sooner, the experience turned around from there. Kim gave me her direct number and told me to contact her if I ran into any issues. I initially drove to another location only to discover it was kiosk-only. Rather than continue wasting gas, I texted Kim, and she quickly directed me to the another location. She even called ahead to let them know I was on my way.
When I arrived at the Billingsley Road location, Margie was ready to help. She told me Kim had already called and assured me that she would take care of everything. Margie was professional, friendly, and efficient throughout the process. She also shared a helpful tip: whenever I win an auction at one of their properties, I can contact their location for assistance if the physical auction site happens to be closed.
The experience started off rocky and cost me extra time and gas, but Kim and Margie absolutely saved the day. Their customer service, communication, and willingness to help turned a frustrating situation into a positive one. Thank you both for going above and beyond.”
