One day, I was completely broke and out of gas. Anyone who’s ever been in that situation knows how stressful and discouraging it feels. You’re stuck, embarrassed, and unsure what to do next. I walked into Ohio Gas not even knowing what I was hoping for, but the clerk behind the counter changed my whole outlook on humanity that day.
Without hesitation, he lent me $5 out of his own pocket so I could put gas in my car. Not store credit. Not a discount. Not some corporate policy. His personal money. Who does that anymore? Seriously—where else can you go and have the clerk personally step up to help you when you’re down? That kind of generosity is rare, and it meant more to me than he probably realizes.
That $5 wasn’t just gas—it was hope. It helped me get to where I needed to be and reminded me that there are still good people in this world who care about others, even strangers. You definitely won’t find that kind of compassion just anywhere. That wouldn’t happen on the west side, that’s for sure.

“The gas is always the lowest priced in the area and the food is good. The new halel chicken rice bowl is my favorite. The catfish is great too. So are all of their sandwiches. Only complaint is the prepared sandwiches and salads change prices daily.”

“This gas station convenience store has changed hands again possibly for the better. The new owner is there a lot and because of that, the operation is better and more professional.
