“My son collected a screw in a tire on his pickup. Noticed it first thing in the morning and wanted to get it repaired before it went flat. Stopped by Oakwood Automotive unannounced and to our surprise they never hesitated. Told the boy to park the truck and within 20 minutes of arrival we were back on the road. “I took 5 wheels over to get balanced and 4 of the wheels were factory aluminum wheels which has to be balanced with stick on weights. Well the other wheel was a bran new aftermarket black steel wheel and I specifically told them to balance that will with stick on weights as well. I said you can use a regular tap on weight on the back side but not the front side. Well that's exactly how the sales rep wrote it up on my receipt, was to use stick on weights on the steel wheel, but whoever did the balancing didn't read what was on the work order because I go pick them up and damn if they didn't balance that black aftermarket steel wheel with the regular tap on weights. Front side and the back side. Well I'm sure if I would have said something about it, they would have rebalanced the wheel and used stick on weights like it was supposed to be. But I figured well the wheel is already balanced and if they take the weights off the front side now it's going to be scratched in that area. So I'm just going to have to deal with it now. But the garage guys needs to learn how to read the invoice when their doing the work on your stuff. Sincerely Joe.”

They're still the best shop in town. They are very honest, they don't uncharge or suggest uneeded work. If they say something is broken, it's actually broken. They are very fairly priced, and they stand by their work. I drive out of my way to go here, I don't go to any other place in Dayton. Highly recommend.

“I had an incredibly positive experience having my Jeep Wrangler repaired by Gary James, owner of Preferred Dent Repair. I stopped by Gary’s shop a few days before he was leaving to go out of state for a short time to perform repairs on vehicles that suffered storm damage, but he was willing to help me despite the time crunch. My Jeep had a notorious dent where the door slammed into the body near the windshield when I lost the handle due to a wind gust. Gary was very honest in that he was not sure that he could do the repair without damaging the paint, which I thought to be a remarkable statement since my hood was almost completely stripped of clear coat due to sun damage. He repaired the dent to perfection, but due to the age of the paint, as he predicted, the paint cracked almost unnoticeably where the dent was located, due to its age and condition. Nevertheless, Gary insisted that he would only charge me half price of what was quoted. If you have dents in your vehicle that you would like to have taken out by this technique, I cannot recommend a business more highly. Gary is honest, has integrity, is fair, is highly skilled, and is good natured person. He will not take on a job unless he is confident in his ability to get good results.”
